I SWORE I wouldn't get the epidural because I heard you could get paralyzed, but MAN when they turned my pitocin up too high on accident it caused me to have 2 contractions a min, I made it to 4.5 dilation & begged for that epidural I didn't care cause those risks are almost slim to none... The epidural is lovely!! I recommend it. But do what makes you comfortable! If you do it without you're putting yourself through a lot of unncessecary labor & pain, well in my opinion cause after I got the epidural I laughed at my contractions going off the screen....
