Abortion pill... up to 8 weeks?

posted 31st May '12
THIS IS IN ABORTION SURVIVORS. NEGATIVE COMMENTS KEEP TO YOURSELF.

i was just wondering about the abortion pill. i had my abortion nearly 3 years ago. i chose to do the pill form. it says they will only do it up to 8 weeks. well, i was going through my memory box, pictures of my ex baby daddy and I, ultrasound pictures, paperwork, and i looked really close at the ultrasound i had on the day i had my abortion, it says i was 8w2d along. I remember her saying it too, it just didnt click right then.

i didnt want to have the abortion. i felt as though i had no other choice. bf wasnt supportive and was cheating on me for months (i didnt know it then), parents wouldnt speak to me. looking back it was the right decision. ive been able to accomplish many more things in my life now.

but my question is, if i were to bring my ultrasound picture to them, and show them that i was past 8 weeks, even by 2 days, could they legally get in trouble? i mean i have ALL my paperwork, receipts, pill bottles (i dont want to forget. might sound weird but it helps me cope). ive been curious about this for the last couple days.

So, you want to get them in trouble for giving you the pill when you were 2 days over 8 weeks because you didn't really want the abortion in the first place?

Why would you want to get them in trouble?

What Is the Abortion Pill?

The abortion pill is a medicine that ends an early pregnancy. In general, it can be used up to 63 days — 9 weeks — after the first day of a woman's last period. Women who need an abortion and are more than 9 weeks pregnant can have an in-clinic abortion.
The name for "the abortion pill" is mifepristone. It was called RU-486 when it was being developed.

i dont want to get them in trouble. whats done is done, and i cant go back and change it. im just wondering IF i went back and showed them all of this, would they get in trouble? should they have known better or did they give the pill to me anyways because i had paid for it already?

i just dont understand why they would have given it to me if they knew i was over 8 weeks, even only by two days. my ex and i 's deciding factor was if i had to get the surgical abortion, that we would not have an abortion at all.

its just been going through my head lately that "what if they would have refused to give me the pill because i was 2 days over... would i still have my child?"

like i said nothing i can do to change it, was just wondering...

You were 8 weeks and 2 days. That's still "8 weeks" so technically you could take the pill.

Is there any reason to go back to a place 3 years later over 2 days? I think the pill is just not effective after 8 weeks, which is why they have that time limit on there.

I AM NOT GOING TO GO BACK AND GET THEM IN TROUBLE. I was simply wondering IF they could get in trouble.

You were still in your 8th week so you weren't over it. Do you really think they would set themselves up for a major liability lawsuit like that?

never thought if it that way. i thought it was being very literal by saying "8 weeks no later" makes sense now.
