if you trust he is okay caring for an infant than the time w/him should start asap to get her used to it and you used to it. The longer you put it off the harder it will be for both of you to transition.....

Are you breastfeeding? That would affect my decision a lot. Personally I dont think I could do it any earlier than 6 months. He would be welcome to be at my house whenever he wanted but as far as my baby spending the night away from me.. not before 6 months.

Yes, I'm breastfeeding.
And yeah my plan was not till she was at least a few months old, due to breastfeeding and just because I would not be ready to do it any sooner.

ASAP would be in a few months at least... I couldn't imagine leaving her for a while yet.
Breastfeeding is also an issue too, because I'm doing it exclusively.

Agreed!
There is no set time frame for visits and it's basically what you two work out. Sit down with him, have a calander handy and discuss visitation, set times and backup plans. If you two get along it will be less stressful for all involved and will keep it out of the court systems.

My baby's father and I are not together, we broke up when I was 3mos pregnant.
He spends the majority of his time with the baby while I am around, which is hard for me because I would like to work things out with him but he does not.
I had bad anxiety about the baby leaving and used to cry every time he took him.
I completely trust that he is in good hands when with his dad, it's something I just had to get used to. Like I told my ex I carried this baby inside of me for 9mos, everywhere I went, everything I did he was with me. It's not that easy to just let someone take him w/o feeling like a part of me was missing. We worked up from him taking him a couple hours at a time, to now he'll take him up to 6hrs at a time. My son is 13mos old.
