I finally had my period mid may and am now ovulating. I want to TTC sooooo badly, however, my most recent thyroid panel indicated that I am still hyperthyroid and my PCP advised me not to TTC until my levels are within normal range, since he thinks they may have contributed to my Feb 08 miscarriage.

He says 10 weeks on the lower dose of synthroid and re-test. I say NO WAY! I'm going to Australia for 2 weeks and when I get back I will call the office and tell them I want to be retested..So hopefully by August I can really TTC again!

Patience is a virtue, but it sure stinks.

Alright ladys time for some updates...how is everyone doing? My new dose of synthroid has finally kicked in and i'm just sitting around waiting to test next week...af better not show up  !!!
I hope everyone is doing just great!

I'm a 22 year old and for the past 4 years I have been having irregular periods. ie. every 2-4 months, and now every 6 months; and when I do get one, they are very light and dark, or extremely heavy and my cramps are unbearable.  Could this be a thyroid problem??? Im worried. I have a doctors apt but they cant see me for the next two weeks. What do you all think? 

from my experience/knowledge an underactive thyroid makes you bleed more-not less.
for example--I would spot for 16 days, then have a 7-8 day period. then no spotting and then 4-5 days later I would start spotting again until my period showed up.
Before I was ever diagnosed with hypothyroid, I spotted for an entire year. This was post miscarriage and so I thought my body was just trying to regulate itself.

Your symptoms correlate more with PCOS than with thyroid irregularities.
