so, i went to my Dr today with my concern over not having a period for 3 months now . I miscarried Feb 17th and had the D&C on the 19th. THREE months I waited...

So, My Dr and I discussed provera today. He says if my thyroid levels (TSH, T3 and free T4) come out in normal range, we can try provera. Well, I go back to work and I feel a little crampy..and lo and behold...my period!

Yay me. I have never been so excited to have cramps. LOL

So, as long as my levels come back in range, we will start TTC again this month.

So Daytona Beach doctors officially SUCK! As many know I went to an ob/gyn 2 mos. after my m.c b.c I have 6 "false pos" tests and when I went all he told me was I looked perfectly fine (internally...up my birth canal)...he did NO tests execpt for a preg, test that came back neg. and he basically told me to look to the heavens. NO! That doesn't help. So I went to have a detailed physical and I asked them to check my thyroid b.c of my issues with anxiety, and the m/c @ 5 mos and the trying to get pregnant and has some false positives and yada. He told me that since my neck wasn't swollen there was no reason to check for hyperthyroidism and since I was overweight there was so reason to check for hypothyroidism. Excuse my language but BILLSHIT. I wanted it check and they would. I am of course going to go to a diff. doc. and demand again b.c I have all symptoms but they told me it's b.c I've been suffering w/.sever anxiety disorder plus a m.c. I feltlike he was making it out like I was lying. UGH. Daytona Beach Florida SUCKS for physicians. I just want another bundle of love, is that too much to ask. I feel like I am losing my mind.

WTF!!??? That doesn't even make sense. Damn right you should get a second opinion. Sheesh, I loathe lazy doctors.

If at first you do't succeed...try another Dr.

That has become my motto since being diagnosed. I had a great endo early on, then due to insurance, I had to see my General Physician for thyroid management. Well,I have been through 4 of them and am still not feeling like I am taken seriously...so I know where you're frusteration is coming from.

I am sorry for your loss, and the anxiety and all that you are feeling.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one with dr issues...but I hope you get a good one soon. My dr only wants to check my thyroid every 4 months..I'm like seriously? Not to mention my ob said my levels need to be lower than what my family dr says..ugh.

Oh goodness...my family doctor said that there was nothing wrong with me the whole time i went to him. He even refused to send me to and endo and said that all the anxiety and panic attacks i was having was my fault and i just needed to "help myself" get better. I demanded to be sent to an endo and found out that i have hashimoto's. All that crap taught me to stand up for myself and ask for another opinion. The things we go through just to get normal!

I wonder if I should try seeing an endocrinologist. I mean I have no idea why my thyroid is messed up, only that it is and that he just wants to check it every 4 months...what do your dr's want your tsh levels to be at?

Honestly i don't know where my doc wants them to be but im pretty sure its between .5 to 1.5. She is working with me to find the level where i feel good and where the fatigue goes away. I feel soo much better when my levels are in the low end..lol (kinda in the hyper range) so she is tring to keep me as low as possible without being hyper.

I would go see and endocrinologist if i were you...especiallysince regular doctors are not always up to date on thyroid issues and the new tsh range...i learned that the hard way lol.

I just don't understand why doctors would even want to "refuse" tests when they are getting paid for them. I have excellant insurance and billing history so it's not like he could of been like"Eh she has Medicaid...I'm not wasting my time" the way the many doctors UNFORTUNATLY do. But he kept telling me I am working myself up over a miscarriage that is so common. He was so cold about everything. It may even be true. But I want the damned test to know for sure. -Failli...He explained to me that if it were Hyperthyroid...my thyroid would swell in my neck...and I have every other "symptoms" of it but he claimed it is b.c I have 12 years of recorded severe anxiety, ocd and manic depression. First of all I don't see where 12 yrs comes from b.c I'll be 25 on June 5th and I didn't start goingto a doctor for any of that until I was about 18. And he said I would be overweight if it were hypothyroid. But, def not true...I was talking with my neighbor today about what happened and she told me all about her HYPOthyroid and she is average weight for a 29 yr old. She gave me her doctor's # so I'll def go there. I don't even know if it could be a thyroid issue at all that I am having but it def would be nice to have that test done to figure out if I should continue ttc or wait. I've been trying as much as I possible for the dates I'm getting on this fertility friend thing for 5 mos...No luck. I just want answers. (Or maybe we should just just start "doing it" for fun like before....we've both been on such baby mode...) Who knows....Baby Fever is offically SET IN..and it's mighty vicous!
