What do you think? BFP or invalid?

Sorry to those in my parent tank that have already read this....

So here's what I did...so first response as we all know is one of the most expensive hpt on the market. So, I disected a test and cut the strip in half. I figured it would still work because there was still the absorbant tip on the bottom and it still ran across the strip like normal. I did this b/c I read somewhere of a few women on herewho have cut their OPK's in half to make them last longer. So...I took my first cut one at 9yesterday morning, but I had peed at 7...so it wasn't really FMU. I had an evap line...or so I thought and took it as a BFN. I was getting impatient later that night and thought it's my last test why not?I took the other 1/2last nightand I got a very faint 2nd line in the time frame the box said!!! Could I take this as a BFP??? Now I'm doubting it b/c I tampered w/ it, but it looks just like a positive only shorter! Has anyone ever done this? What do you guys think?? I took an equate this morning and it was a BFN, so I'm thinking it was invalid, but the 2nd line showed up in the right time frame. Do you think it's b/c first reponse is more sensitive? I figured out how to take pics close up with my camera so here are a few. One is a comparison of the first and second one.

It looks like a positive to me.
Could you go get an ept test?

I understand about wanting to save money, but I don;t think it was very wise to tear it apart like that. I would go out and buy some more and leave them intact and retake a test just to be sure. You never know!

I agree...in trying to save money I'm going to end up spending MORE money!

Positive! That's how mine looked and my hubby swore it was negative. He wanted to be sure before he got his hopes up so he asked me to buy a digital test..lol.

I took a few tests and one of them showed very lightly like yours did. Obviously for me it was positive! I heard that any line is a positive line!

Yeah, I've taken so many tests that I kind of want to wait but I'm not sure I can. AF is due today, but I've been known to be a couple days off occasionally so technically I'll be late Tuesday.

i would get another first response.  they're the most sensitive according to a few tests (and my opinion lol).  it looks pos to me, so go get another one!!

That's exactly how my DH is right now...I would normally take this as a positive b/c my firt pregnancy I had a test that looked like that...but because I tore it apart I'm wondering....  and with the equate negative I'm even more confused...which btw equates suck! Their horizontal line is so faint it's almost like this test I'm questioning ha ha

It should detect the hormone whether its intact or not

i am right there with you! AF is supposed to start today, but EPT yesterday said BFN, AF hasn't showed up so far, but i just don't feel pregnant sadly...  also, this may be TMI, but i'm having these white "spots" of goo come out of me, and i've NEVER experienced that... anyone know what that is?

That's what I'm thinking...and equate said to wait until your missed period which I haven't missed it yet. So first response apparently is really sensitive! A girl in my parent tank got a bfp with a first response then went and had a blood test and her level was a 9! So mind could be a BFP even with a BFN the next day...I think I'll go buy another one tonight

yeah I hadn't missed my period yet when first response gave me my BFP.
and I didn't use the FMU either!
I would buy at least one more and test again tomorrow morning!

I see it fine  go grab a cheap dollar test to reconfirm, I poas on 10 sticks lol and all came back positive  and to me a pos is a pos
