Advice on abortion

I am currently 5 weeks. I know for sure an abortion is what I want. I have a 2.5 yr old and and 1 year old. I cannot handle another child, emotionally and financially.
I have called a few places in my area and they are so expensive. I have decided to have the local anesthetic procedure, where your cervix is numbed but you are awake. It is the cheapest of options and I can drive myself home after. As care for my girls is an issue.
My question is; has anyone ever had the procedure where they are fully aware? I am freaking out at the thought of being awake. Please! Help me feel better ;(

Yes, I did and I didn't know what was going on. It was over pretty quickly and I didn't feel a thing.

I've never had an abortion before, but if I did, that sounds like the way I'd want to do it....being completely unaware of what's going on with my body would just freak me out. I'd rather be awake anyway..

I can't be of much help, but I've seen a few ladies say that some Planned Parenthoods do it on a sliding scale according to your income? I don't know if you've tried that yet, just figured it may help.

You cant do the abortion pill??? Where in NJ are you? Because if you are close to DE call the wilmington PP and they have the abortion pill which doesnt require all of that mess and is less expensive.

With the abortion pill you can drive yourself home.

I was fully awake for one...and put under for the other.
You feel pressure....but that's about it. It was harder for me to be awake though.

Pp Is a joke. They want $480 for the pills. And they dont do procedures on sliding scales. I'm pretty far from DE, I'm near Trenton. I even considered adoption but I know I cannot do that.

Some OBGYNs do it with the pill. You take one at the office by mouth and stick 2 in the vagina 12 hours later. It's 300.00 you should try to see if your doc does it that way you can be home with your children.

Well, I was miscarrying and had a D&C and it was local. I imagine it's probably like the same thing, right?
It was awesome. It was over quite quickly, it didn't hurt after, and it didn't slow me down. Hearing it was unpleasant, but I would just bring an iPod or something if I had to have another. It was just this yucky squelching sound.

Ohh wow! I live in another state and the office I work at charges 300.00

It's silly that it's so expensive...Wow, they really back people in a corner don't they?
