What a day (LONG) **UPDATE***
posted 3rd May
What a say I had, I woke up at about 930 because we were going to go to my brothers house @ 11 and eat french tost, Chris (My husband ) go up and took the kids out of bed while I showered, the kids have had a bug for the past few days but Sammy was running around like a happy little guy so I fiured he felt all better, my daughter on the other hand got up and walked to the couch and layed down, So chris took her temp, and told me it was at 103, I didn't believe him so I went and took it my self, sure enough103.
So I told him to get everyone in the car we were going to urgent care (We dropped Sammy off at my brothers house) we get the and I am holding Autumn and she is VERY hot just to the touch, well the check her temp with their weird thermomeat that they wave over her head and tell us she dosn't have a fever, So I'm telling them BS "FEEL HER!" so the check it under the arm 99.8 SO they said well she dosn't seem to have a fever but we will do a rectel temp if you want...UMMM YEAH I KNOW MY KID HAS A FEVER and I know my $40.00 thermometer can't be THAT wrong, I mean i check my own temp and it was fine!!! well FINALLy they check her Rectel temp and it shows 101.8 while it's not the 103 mine shown it's still a Temp!!!
So I explain to the Dr that she is vomiting eveything INCLUDING water well he just tells me to give her small ammounts of water and keep her comfortibel... Im like UMM no SHE IS NOT HOLDING DOWN EVEN SMALL AMMOUNTS OF WATER.......so they try this fluid chalenge where the give her 5 CC's of water every 5 min for 1 hour to see if she can hold it down...15min into it I am covered in thown up water, Well they decied I am not an idiot and send us to the Pediatric urgent care!
So we go over there (Across town), and they check her in Tell me she dosn't have a fever (She feels even hotter now) and then finally they give her a IV for 2 1/2 hoursand draw blood to see how dehidrided she really is and to see if the want to admit her into the hospital (Oh and they find she has an ear infection so the give her antibiotics too) so during this time, I am calling work to let them know I don't know when or IF I am even comming in (At least they were nice about it) . Finally they decieded to give her some pedilite (5ccs ever 5 min agaon) and 25 min into up it comes ....they said it was not that bad (HUMMM I mean come on she still isn't holding fluids down) and they decied to send her home and told us to bring her back at 10 am to follow up and see if she need another IV.......... So I finally I got to come home, Shower, Change and Eat then go into work 2 hours late and worry about her the whole time
What a day
