6wks PP, stitches busted? (TMI)

posted 3rd May
So, I had my son March 21st. I tore pretty substancially, they said over 15 stitches. Well, last week I started bleeding and I thought it was my period. I thought it was a little weird because I'm breastfeeding and it was bright bright red blood. Well, since then...I've been feeling HORRID amounts of pain. It stings and burns and ugh. Well, I know my tear is busted open because I'm bleeding from the perineal area and not anywhere else. What should I do? Do I have to go get stitches put back in? Or do I let it heal on it's own? >.<

Get it fixed!

Didn't mean that to sound harsh, lol! But, def. get that checked up on. You need to take care of yourself, imagine if you got an infection.. eek.

The same thing happened to my friend and she went to the ER and they told her they couldn't do anything bc it would heal on it's own but they did give her pain meds but she wasn't BFing. Another friend of mine here on BG had the same thing happen to her and they operated on it I believe. I'll try and find the thread and post the link if you want.

Well my doctor is out of town until the 15th (Which I have an appt for that day). Should I go to a different doc? Or wait?

is there a doctor on call that you could speak with? I'd call into the office first, see if you can speak with a nurse practitioner. Or ask to speak with the doctor on call. (they have to have someone on call incase of labors while another doc is out of town.) If no one is able to help you there I'd go to the E.R. Even if they tell you it'll be fine and just to take some meds, thats better than just sitting back waiting for something to happen.

GO to the doctor! It doesn't have to be yours but that's definitely abnormal and someone should check it out right away.
