1yr old questions

DD just turned one (on May 4th) and is still using a bottle (at home) she'll use a sippy cup at daycare..we try & have several types but she won't use them for us. Do we just need to stop the bottle cold turkey and practically force the cup?

She also sleeps in the bed with me but WILLINGLY sleeps in a crib at daycare.

Lastly - how do I break her from paci? Only uses it to sleep.

DD stopped using the pacifier herself at 6 months so we got lucky there
The only techniques I've been told of and seen work is to cut the pacifier a little bit everyday until there's nothing left to suck on or just take them away all together.

We're still trying to wean her off the bottle now too. It's not easy, but what we're doing right now is only giving her a bottle when she wakes up and before she goes to sleep. She's still just getting the hang of drinking out of a sippy cup. Once we see that she's starting to get the hang of it we'll slowly start giving that to her in the morning and at night too.

We just quit giving DD a bottle cold turkey at 11 mo. She didn't care.

We're starting to wean the paci at the moment. Though my real goal is for it to be gone by the time baby #2 is here. Right now when I get her up I tell her it has to stay in bed and she'll throw it in her crib. Since yours only uses hers to sleep, maybe taking it away at nap time to start. Once she's used to that, try taking it away at night too.

Lucky you! She took a sippy cup better around 4-5mon but it flowed too fast and caused her to spit up worse then normal..so we stopped. Now she'll only take it for daycare   looks like cold turkey it is!!

She knows to spit it out when we tell her to and will put it in if she sees it laying around the house but we take it once we notice! She'll also spit it out once she's asleep and go all night without it! Seems like paci will easier to break then bottle!!

The day before DD's 1st birthday, I just threw all the bottles in the trash. She never cried for one or anything. As far as sleeping in the bed with you and taking a paci, I have no idea...DD has always slept in her own bed and she never took a paci.

DD drinks formula from her bottle in her crib before naps and bed time. The rest is all a sippy with a straw. She will not take a spout cup of any sorts- she will ONLY use her straw.
DD LOVES her nuk and will not sleep without it. i dont mind her having it and am not in the process of weaning her from it yet. I've heard cutting a hole in the top makes it less enjoyable for them and theyll eventually dislike it and not miss it.
DD went right nto her crib after cosleeping for 3 months. She got sick around 8 months and we had to let her CIO for a few days for her to stay in the crib and put herself to sleep, shes fine now.

I'm no help with the bottle but ad far as the paci goes we didn't take gees till she was almost 3 but only bc her dentist said it was ok. And she just recently started sleeping in her own bed. But even now at almost 4 she comes In our room at night and sleeps n the floor.

Cold turkey with the bottle is how I did it for my son! And with a paci...he never used one ..but I'd imagin cold turkey aswell!
