3rd Birthday

My son is turning 3 years old in June. The kid loves EVERYTHING. It was easy to plan his 1st Birthday because, well he was one. His 2nd Birthday again was easy because he still didn't really get it, now that he's turning 3 he knows that his Birthday is coming up. This is probably a wicked lame question but how do you have a successful 3rd Birthday party? I was thinking of renting one of those jumping things. But what else is there to do to make a Birthday party fun for a 3 year old? What did some of you ladies do for your kids 3rd B-day?

I cried, LOL. We did a silly candy hunt with left over Easter Eggs. It was fun for the kids. My daughter turns 4 June 2nd. When is your son's birthday.

for my sons 3rd birthday we had Elmo come lol that didn't turn out well, some kids were scared. My boys birthdays will be combined this yearsince my oldest turns 4 on August 7th and my other son will be turning 2 on August 8th, so I'm trying to do something fun for the both of them. I'm thinking of renting one of those jumping things as well. Last year the kids also went swimming in our pool and since it was so hot, that kept them entertained for awhile. The party was a success other then a few kids being scared by elmo lol

I could probably do some sort of Scavenger hunt. My son turns 3 on June 16th! I didn't cry at his 1st Birthday, I was so overwhelmed with planning it and talking to everyone and then after getting all his new toys set up that I never had the chance to think about it. I did cry at his 2nd Birthday though. Lol.

What a cute idea having Elmo! Bummer a few kids were scared. I had a magician at my 10th Birthday, I wonder if that's something kids at 3&4 could enjoy?

I know my oldest wanted Elmo to leave and he has always adored Elmo. Now he can't stand him lol. I want to make it really fun this year but I don't know what else to do. So I thought renting a Jumping thing would be fun. I just hope the kids would actually enjoy it. I wish I had more ideas. It's so hot in August, so usually the kids want to go swimming but not all the parents want to get in the pool with them.

That would be fun, I wish I could take my kids there. My kids would have a blast there. I hate Illinois!

I think maybe we'll just have a sprinkler going and a slip and slide. But the weather is so not reliable. It should be in the 80s but the way the weather is going now who knows what it will be. I think the jumping thing EVERYONE can enjoy.

Sprinkler and a slip n slide would be fun. I know this weather changing sucks. My kids all have had this bad cold for almost 2 weeks now. I'm just going in circles with it.

Same with my son. Going on 3 weeks now that he's had a cold.

Aww it has to be the weather. So many kids are sick. My kids were so sick last Sunday during my daughter baptism, I felt so bad dragging them to it. They seemed to be getting better this week then Bam it started up again.

Where do you live?

Here in MA the weather sucks. It was 80-85 degrees 2 weeks ago and now it's in the 40's. It's crappy!

I live in Illinois right outside of Chicago. I know one day its like 80 then the next it's in the 40s. It was so icky today. The rain isn't helping either. I like taking the kids outside to play but haven't been able to. I wish it would warm up and stay warm.
