like I said I am not sure how it works, I don't know the rules and regs but I do see your point.

I am not saying I agree with the mans statement, but he was by defenition correct. But for the record I think it was unnecessary

The war on terror is not about me me me. We helped those people to have a better life. Your cousin signed up for the military, he knew what could happen. I dont mean to have no sympathy for him, but he was not drafted and forced to fight.

So what you are saying is that its ok to help those people better their lives but its not ok for hispanics to get help?

NO, what I am saying is that we did a good thing in Iraq, even if we didn't find the weapons we were told were there. 2nd, I never said it was not ok for hispanics, or anyone for that matter not to get help to make a better life for themselves or their family. I am simply saying DO IT LEGALLY. Why is that such a bad thing? This post took a turn at some point and now we are discussing immigration, but if you are going to have a press #1 for english then have a number for German, Italian, Gaelic, Russian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and so on. Can you grasp what I am saying?

I could see this. Maybe if they had a "Press 2 for all other languages" button, and then divided it up further that way. According to the 2000 US Census, 15% of our population is made up of Hispanics - so obviously there is a need for the Spanish language in this country. But thats not to say that the argument doesn't apply to other languages as well.

Here's an interesting link I found, which shows some quick facts on the US Census. Nearly 18% of people in the US speak a language other than English at home. When they do the census, do you think that they include all persons living here, or is it just citizens? I'm not entirely sure how they compile their data. If anyone has any info, that would be helpful! Thanks!

That is just one side. Have you seen video or pictures of the thousands of people we gave a better life to and who thank our men and women in the military for giving them same?? You and I will never agree with eachother on this subject. This has been debated by intelectuals and scholars alike and both sides have true and valid reasons for which they support one side vs. the other.

I have the ability to see both sides and I do watch other news stations like CNN who tend to lean left, and I can see SOME of the arguments made on the left, HOWEVER I lean to the right, and Bill O'reilly and Anne Coltureare my best friends

I think it's just a reason for people to complain..Complain, complain, complain, that's all we do.....Come on now, how hard and frustrating is it is "press 1"?? Why would that ruin your day? Who cares? Tired of people complaining over stupid crap...If you were in a non english speaking country you would jump for joy if you had the option to "press 1 for English".....Would it then be frustrating to do so?? My guess is NO!

Personally, I think her post answered the original question. The conversation took a turn somewhere around page 12 or so and everyone ended up discussing immigration.
