I hate how the tributaline made me all shaky and made my heart race, it was the worst feeling ever. magnesium sounds nauseating....
So why do you have to? why aren't they just letting you just stay stuck at 4cm? especially if your water hasn't broken.....

oh edit: sorry if I am being nosy.  

i got off of my terbutaline pump on tuesday and thursday i started having horrible back pains. went to l&d and after me laying there in pain for 2 hours they gave me a shot of terbutaline and gave me some terbutaline pills too. i was dialated to 3cm and i believe 70% effaced. 
today my back was starting to hurt a little and i lost my mucous plug. i started having intense back pain again but luckily after an hour it went away. i'm glad i didn't go all the way to the hospital today. i was actually waiting on someone to come pick up our daughter so we could go. thankfully they took a long time. hopefully the baby stays until at least tuesday b/c i am making up the final exam i missed on thursday and i HAVE to make it up that day before grades are due for the semester. 
the doctor said he is very surprised i made it this far and they only stopped the labor on thursday because they said boys develop slower than girls. i had the steroid shots at 28 weeks but my hospital doesn't have a nicu or anything like that so that makes me nervous the closest one is over an hour away so that would be really sucky. 

well for those who are going in early...lots of labor love and dust to ya!!!
and keep us may moms posted on your bundle of joys and delivery...ill be thinking bout ya!!!

Mag. is worse because it make you so sick that you can't even walk or pick anything up plus you can't eat it makes you throw up. You have to be in the hospital when you have it. I went into labor at 29 weeks and they put the pump in hoping I'd make it to 34. They usually take the pump out at 34 weeks, but my doctor let me keep it until 36 weeks. It costs thousands of dollars a day to have it so insurance usually won't cover it after a certain time. My hospital usually breaks you water when you're 4 cm I guess? I have a ton of contractions though now, so onceI take the pump out with no meds. I'll most likely deliver witin 12 hours. I just wanted to make it to my baby shower.

K this maybe a stupid question where does the pump go? How does the medicine get in u?

They stopped your labor? My hospital won't stop anything after 34 weeks it sucks. We don't have a NICU either the closet one is a hour away.

I put a little thing in my leg kind of like an iv and a tude goes to it and I carrya little pump that hooks to my pants and the meds. are in it and it gives then to me. I have to change the med. thing about every 18 hours and the thing that goes in my leg about every three days.

yes I know...that word patience is what everyone needs...Oh man because definitly once you have kids patience is needed....I think mine is flying away though but like i said I can wait. I have the motivation to wait....   I need to finish school work before she comes

So you don't have to take the thing out of your leg just unhook the tube?

ooh ok! well good luck! I hope it all goes well. And my midwives won't stop labor once you hit 36 weeks. So no more meds for me !

I have to take the thing out every three days and put a new one in, in the other leg so it doesn't get gross. I tube is alway connected to it and when I put a new one in I put a new tube in also. I can shower and everything with it in, it's just really annoying. Sleeping sucks too.

Does it hurt? I mean to put a new one in. It sounds painful Im sorry u have to go through that but happy u made it so far.

Not really, it's a really small needle and then you take the needle out and it leave the tude in your leg like an iv. My mom puts it in for me because I'm not good with having to stick something in my leg. It hurts less then getting blood taken. It was totally worth it though or I would have had a 30 week baby. It works better then pills too.
