did it today....

So I had my abortion today. I ended up going through with it. My appointment was at 9 at the Dunwoody Women's Medical Center of Atlanta, they did not call me back until almost ONE o'clock! It was ridiculous. They were so rude and slow and rough the entire time. It was 385+70 more for being 20 pounds over weight restriction (from the pregnancy I might add), and I am only 12 weeks and they did an ultrasound and said that I was 13 weeks and 3 days, which isn't possible and then added another 150$ on there for being over 12 weeks. I was so pissed, I had a break down in the parking lot, but once you pay them, you can NOT get your money back. Really sucks, so went ahead and did it. Then found out, had to get examined because I had a c-section so 60$ MORE added to that. I was comfortable and the DR was fast and sweet and the nurses in the surgery room made me feel so much better and comfortable about it. When I woke up though, I had a nasty Jamaican woman who took my blood pressure and I was trying to ask her a question about my cramping and she told me "you need to learn to shutup ms. love, we don't want you in here just like you don't want to be in here.. then told me that she doesn't agree with abortion and doesn't like working there, and I asked Why and she told me "i said zip your lips".. I said you don't have to be rude, this is a hard decision and not one that I am "excited about" Yah know? I wasn't expecting it to be a "good" experience per say, but I would think that they would make you feel more comfortable and not be so rough and show smurf into you so hard. Ugh, Now I'm getting a sense of guilt and looks and I feel dirty, but I know that this was my last and only option. I am at peace, but I definitely need to see a counselor! Thanks for reading! Anyone else had rude nurses in theirs?

That is awful that you experience was not good because of the employees! They should have made you feel safe and comfortable. At least the doctor was nice to you.

She was.. They gave me a survey site to go to! Giving the recovery nurses definitely bad reviews! They were horrible!! They made me feel worse about it.. but it's my choice! I think they were all about the money though because every freaking girl that came in there they said that when they checked them, they were all over 13 weeks and made them all pay 150$ extra... It's ridiculous. One woman was 33 and said that she doesn't have sex much because it makes her feel guilty, and she decided to with her boyfriend and they didn't use a condom once and she is only 8 weeks and its been confirmed on 3 different ultrasounds. and mine was confirmed on three as well that I would have only been 12 weeks today.

When I had my abortion they were VERY friendly and caring about the whole situation and acted like friends toward me.

Ugh that makes me so mad   I can't believe she treated you like that. I hope you have an easy recovery, they don't put you to sleep here. I was awake for mine and all the nurses and doctors were very nice and supportive. I would have flipped if anyone was rude to me. I also feel bad that it costs so much to get it done  

That's awful. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. My ob that delivered my son sent me to the Dr he sends his patients to when they have later 18-20 week abortions due to medical problems the fetus is having because he knew I didn't want to go to a PP or some other place that treats you like ass and he also knew how bad I didn't want to do it but had no other option. This Dr and his nurses were amazing. I got lucky. I hope you're recovery goes smoothly.

That is absolutely ridiculous. From even working in a clinic they should know going through with that isn't an easy decision. Nurses like that should work else where. That really gets me mad u had that type of an experience. But always remember things get better and don't let people like that get u down. I hope u have a quick n safe recovery.

i would seriously put in a complaint about that nurse, that is horrible. you did get her name right?
seriously, shes going to be doing that to other women.
she needs to be stopped.
