re: Penises Everywhere!

lol DivaAveri xD!
ampoe1: I don't see anything wrong with it actually, so I do not plan to discourage it. lol, he's very smart and sensitive that if I said, "What a lovely spaceship!', he'd either a. look at me like I'm stupid and say, "No, Mama! It's a PENIS!" or b. Have hurt feelings bc he knows it is a penis, and I should know that, too.. and for me to think otherwise would insult his drawing skills, lol.
As long as he knows it's something to not be talked about in public, and his entire focus and daily life doesn't revolve around his penis (he'll have enough of that when he hits puberty and beyond (DivaAveri xD!) lol) then everything's okay in my mind. But, in all honesty I still appreciate your reply =D.
I think it really depends on the parent(s) with this topic. We're very straight forward folks, so we're okay with it and encourage him to say penis and testicles, instead of other names (which he has since he's 1st verbally identified his genitals), we're also okay with him exploring himself (we do not encourage it, but at the same time we do not discourage it), as long as it's done in the house and away from the public eye.
And here, I'm going very OT.. but have wanted to mention this somewhere, but didn't want to draw so much attention to it as to post a topic specifically dedicated to the subject...He also likes to play with my makeup, clothing, bras, nail polish, and such, but those are not his main interests concerning play things, probably just mere curiosities, as well as a want to do what Mama does. He'll also state that he wants breasts, and not his pecs.. this is a subject of slight concern, so we tell him that boys can not, and will never grow breasts (assuming he will not have the medical condition in which boys acutally do grow breasts during puberty).. He loathes this answer and stays very adamant that he WILL have breasts. I already have grandparents and friends questioning my son's sexuality! So, in answer to those nosy gparents and friends I say.. He's just a little boy, and these things are probably just a phase, but if not I'll love my little guy no matter what <3.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that it's completely normal for your son to be saying that kind of thing. My son does the same thing. He's been raised with mostly women so it's not a huge surprise. Elias dresses up with his sisters and always tells me he's gonna be a mama when he gets older. Breastfeeding and all! Thing is he knows hes a boy and he likes little girls. I don't think you havae anything to worry about.

Oh, I definitely agree with you on that and it's really nice to hear you say that. According to most of the people I know.. if a little boy sometimes plays with Barbies and mommy's clothes/makeup, then he must have something "wrong" with him, the idiots.
