...the birth of my daughter.Yup.She was brought into the world by a nurse.
The story:
I was originally supposed to be induced on Tuesday but they were too full and I got sent home.It didnt bother me too much considering I wasn't due until wednesday anyways. So I got back to the hospital wednesday morning at 7:30.Was hooked up to my iv and the pitocin was all started by 8 am.My doctor came in and broke my water at 8:30.I started feeling mild contractions around 9:30.At 11:30 I was still only 3 cms dialted. Then at 12:20 I was at 8.I felt an urge to push and they didn't believe me.The nurse called and told my doctor to come in about half an hour or so.She went to lunch,a new nurse came in.She again didn't believe my urge to push until she checked me and realized the baby was coming. She paged the doctor right away.I started pushing at 12:25 and my little girl was hereby 12:28.My doctor showed up about 5 minutes later. He was a bit upset with the first nurse because he had explained to her how fast my other two went and how for my second I was also only 8 cms dialted when she was born..That part went great. The placenta was another story. The placenta didn't want to detach and my doctor was extremely worried that he would have to put me to sleep to get it out.But it finally ended up cooperatng and came out on its own.
As everyone knows we had a hard time deciding on a name if it was a girl.We named her Kendra Lee.She weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long. She is breastfeeding wonderfully.Sorry the pics are so big.
