So one of my old friends and I just started talking again last night after I believe a year. Anyways I saw a pic of an outfit (babies outfit) with a babies name and a date. The picture said I miss my babygirl. So I asked can I ask why you dont have her. She told me she miscarriage at 5 months, and the reason why she had a miscarriage because she was blood type O+ and her boyfriend was O-. She said since it was compatible and it got to the baby and made her miscarry. I asked does that mean you guys cant have babies she said after she miscarried the gave her a shot that wont make her miscarry and they can try for another when they can. Can this be true I never herd of it. And she did fake a pregnancy to keep him I think 2 times but for sure she did it once.

Rh incompatibility...I think however it occurs when the mother is Rh neg and father is Rh pos not the other way around. So she might be confused as to who is who but yes it exists.

Just like any other genetic stuff if the parents have different blood types it can cause the fetus to have one or the other, just like you would get blue or brown eyes. If the fetus has the same blood type as the mother there are no problems, but if they arent compatible, such as the mother being positive and the fetus being negative, it can cause a miscarriage.
There is a shot they can give you to make it so the body doesnt try to miscarry the fetus. Its called the rogan (sp?) shot I believe.

Thats so sad and crazy how it works, Thank god me and my daughter have the same blood type.

Im RH- and I have to get a needle at 28 weeks and then again when giving birth... It doesnt effect the baby before then... So I dont know what you guys are thinking... Im safely past the 5 month mark and I didnt have a miscarriage because of that issue.

you had your shot a 5 months right? well know one told her not even doctors said she had to get it so she didn't get any shots.

No you get the shot at 28 weeks... Im 27 weeks right now... So you actually have to get the needle at 7months not 5. You then get a second needle when you give birth. It had to have been a miscarriage from something else.

depends on the number of pregnancies shes had. Rh antibodies are harmless until the mother's second or later pregnancies. If she is ever carrying another Rh-positive child, her Rh antibodies will recognize the Rh proteins on the surface of the baby's blood cells as foreign, and pass into the baby's bloodstream and attack those cells. This can lead to swelling and rupture of the baby's RBCs. A baby's blood count can get dangerously low when this condition, known as hemolytic or Rh disease of the newborn, occurs. but they tested me at 5 months and if there had been compatibility issues they were going to give me the shot then at just barley 20 weeks.

well idk its either because no one knew she needed shots. Or everyone is different then you and its messed up she was unlucky. And I don't know how far into her 5th month this happen and doctor said that was the reason. Because everything was 100% good with her and the baby(until they found out the blood types) both was healthy and she didn't fall or carry anything heavy or anything like.

This is my 4th pregnancy. Ive had 3 miscarriages(none due to RH-) so no she would not have had a miscarriage because of that.

The ONLY WAY that it would have caused her a miscarriage at 5 months if she has been pregnant before and had a miscarriage and no one tested her to see if she was RH- and failed to give her the shot when she miscarried. But I highly doubt that is the case.
Its common practice to give the shot to women who are around 28 weeks pregnant and another one once they have given birth.

Maybe You should read it... she said that she got tested for it but she is NOT RH-.
