I don't see how parents do it! It just breaks my heart for him to cry. He's only 4 months. It hurts me to hear him cry if I put him I'm his swing to fix his bottle. I don't think ill ever CIO.

my daughter is a year and we have never done CIO.
Until they can understand "yes" and "no" what's the point? We may try it at bed time when she is 2 and can understand when we tell her " stay in bed, it's bed time. good night. love you."
I heard there is info out that they found CIO causes damage to the child that stay's with them for their entire life. Because your basically telling the child, I'm NOT here for you.

I honestly don't see how they can do it though.

My mom was telling me yesterday she watched montel and this lady came on his showing saying that when her baby cried she'd tape it's mouth and put it in the closet so she could go to bed..
