re: moving up in car seats?

She is over the weight limit. She needs a new seat, mama. Height is not a factor.

You're going to have to switch her, she's over the weight limit.

And that's exactly why I loved it. It really sucked when we switched to the convertible. He'd fall asleep in a 10 minute ride to the grocery store and then I'd have to wake him up.

this is also untrue. There ARE height requirements for seats.

OP, what infant seat do you have?

I left my son is his until 15 months and my daughter I switched at 10 months, but she still used it in my mom's car.

There are more seats these days that go to 30-35lbs then 22lbs. Both of the ones I've had go to 30lbs and height is a factor.

It's whatever is reached first. Weight or height. There are height limitations on every infant seat and car seat alike.

With my first daughter she was 4 months when we moved her to a convertible seat.
With my second daughter she was never in a n infant seat she started out in a convertible. And with my son we bought a carrier that goes to 33lbs and 33 inches so he'll be in that for awhile then we will move him to a convertible if hes under 2 years of age.

I was saying that even if she's short, if she's over the weight limit than she has to be switched. It really didn't come across that way how I worded it, sorry. I didn't know that there were ones that went up to 30-35 lbs. When I bought mine (limit 22) I thought I was getting one of the highest weight limits :/ Oh welllllll. Next time I have a baby I'm starting with a convertible seat anyway.

Just wanted to update to let you all know I have switched her seat. the weight requirement for her seat was 25 pounds so since shes 24 we went a head and made the change. I love it other than the fact that if she falls a sleep I have to wake her but oh its all part of it.
