cervical cerclage...anyone else?

i have to have a cervical cerclage next week, has anyone else had to go through this? if so let me know how it went....  

I've had it two times, mine went fine both time, the only thing that went wrong was the first time the stich didnt hold so i lost my first baby, but this time everything is fine, not tryin to scared u its was my body that was the reason the stich didnt stay.

Hi, I just had one on Sept. 28 it went well but I am now on bed rest for about two weeks I go back to the Dr. on Oct. 8. I am trying not to worry   but it is hard not to this is my first and I am due on March 7, 2007. Let me know how it goes for u.

It would really help if you could describe some of the things that you went through after surgery I don't know what I am supposed to feel am I going to have pressure in my lower abdomen maybe a little pain there as well that goes all the way around to back it is the weekend and I can't wait until tommorow so I can call the Dr. and question them to death it just dosent seem as though I feel the baby as much now.  

What is a cervical cerclage i have never heard of it?!?Im 4 months pregnant will i have to get it to?

No it is not something that you just get unless your Dr says so. Don't worry you are going to be fine.

sorry i haven't gotten back sooner. my surgery was fine, they put me completely under and the babys heartbeat stayed strong the whole time. i had pain the day after but by sunday ( i had the surgery on thursday) i was pretty much back to normal, they told me i might have some discarge light bleeding crams etc. i didn't have any side effect to it at all. i hope this helps!

They have suggested it for me because I've had a number of late miscarriages and the placenta is lying low and I have PCOS I was supposed to have it at the beginning of the week but I had a massive bleed now I'm due to have it tomorrow and absoultly panicing about it

I had a doc appt Monaday for my normal ultrasound and was told my cervix was dilated 1.38cm. i was sent home on complete bed rest until Friday when they are going to discuss the cerclage procedure with me. I am 18weeks with my first and I am so scared of loosing my baby. The week is going by too slow for me. I am so afraid it's strecthing and I don't know it. I have no signs and feel so helpless! Can some one please give me some encouragement or advice who has had this procedure done? I am loosing my mind in the process becuase i am so worried everytime i go to the bathroom i am afraid. Thanks for listening! by the way I am having a boy!

thankfully your still early enough in your pregnancy that they can do a cerclage. When I first had trouble, I was at 26 wks and got to 4 cm and 100% before I realized there was a problem. I had to stay in the hospital for 5 weeks, before my little peanut came on his own.

With my last baby, and this one, I had the cerclage put in at 14 weeks, and taken out at 36. It's really not painful, I had a spinal block for when they put them in, and when my doc takes them out, it's in the office and very little pain there.

I did have some very mild cramping and slight bleeding when they put the cerclage in, and cramping when they took it out, but nothing major.

Thank you. I had to go in today because my lower stomach was cramping and i was urinating frequently ... turns out on top of everything else i have a urinary tract infection. they are giving me antibiotics ... i saw another one of the doc's today and she doesnt want to do the cerclage, she said it's too risky...they sd the cervix hasn't stretchde since Monday and the baby is doing well. I am so worried about him, i do not know what to think or do. I am freaking out... I have my consult scheduled for tomorrow... i will keep u posted! anyways thanks for the kind words and advice....

To Tamarah 1271 don't worry so much I know that it is easy to say that but to worry will not help the baby I had to learn to put trust in God and everything turned out fine as you can see my beautiful baby girl below.
