corrected age

Just curious, how does this work?

My son was born at 35.5wks on April 15, 2012 and due date was May 15. What would his corrected age be and why is this important to know?

My son was born a few hours into his 36th week I was told its not important to know unless the baby is not hitting milestones

unless severely premature... it's not a big deal except for the first few months.. possibly the first year.

The reason it's important to know.. is milestones go by months in the beginning.. so if someone else with a 6 month old is doing something.. you know your child is really developmentally on target with 5 month olds because he/she was born a month early. A month can make a big difference in development as an infant.
