posted 2nd May
So when I was 12 I was diagnosed with Thyroid Disease. My mom had thyroid cancer and had her thyroid removed so i know im destined to have the cancer eventually one day but for now i just have the disease. And ive been hearing about going in to pre term labor due to this disease. Do any of you know about this or any of you have experience with this? Please let me know! I go to the Dr on the 16th and ill ask my Dr then. But i was interested in your stories Thanks girls!!

I have graves disease and i have 8 kids and pregnant with my 9th..and only one was early due to other complications(my water broke early).but no your thyroid has nothing to do with it..and i have hyperthyroidism and thats really bad...so no untrue your thyroid does not put risk of premature delivery and ive never heard that from a doctor.just take your meds and youll be fine the only thing that may happen is youll be sicker in the pregnancy.go see your endocrinologist and they can explain the specific protocol for you and your baby..

My Dr Said My Thyriods were swollen and they did blood work and said everything came back negitive...I didnt know anything about it so I wasnt worried but reading this makes me want to ask some questions!!!!
I hope your pregnancy goes well though, ask your Doctor and try not to stress about it.

I have Hypothyroidism, but it didn't affect the pregnancy or birth. The Dr. would just check my TSH, T3 and T4 each month to be sure they were at good levels and change the dosage of my medicine if needed, he even had me have 2 ultrasounds of my thyroid during pregnancy to make sure nothing was changing. As long as it is managed with your medicine everything will be fine.

I had a MC at 9 weeks, and I have Graves' disease. It was y first pregnancy, and although I have had RAi and been on meds for 12 years , about 3 months before getting pregnant, my TSh and T3 levels were really off, so we had been playing with my meds when I got pregnant. I was hyperthyroid ( on too much levoxyl and cytomel) for the first 9 weeks of my pregnancy and lost it. I blame myself for not having my thyroid levels under control before we started trying to conceive.
I am still hyper thyroid, and currently working with my Dr. to lower my dosages.
I am happy to find out that others have had success with pregnancies..it gives me hope!
