Yes, it's very common to have therapy dogs or cats for kids with autism and other emotional or physical disabilities I'd start by contacting a local service dog program.

Look up 4 paws for ability. I have a friend who just got her son a dog from them. They are expensive but really worth it. Her son is autistic/mild cp and epileptic. they actually train in Ohio (It's where they are based)
