Gets Me So Mad But Was I Wrong ?

posted 22nd May '12
So on FB this girls that are teen moms(some not all), when they get called out on being a bad mom they always put on I do everything and anything for my kid F you all. And more then half them dont pay bills or pay for baby stuff, dont work go to school or the dropped out, or they barley watch there kids. It gets me mad because I busted my ass to get my diploma early, I busted my ass a my job and a side job on weekends till I go to college in the fall, and the only time my mom watches my daughter is 1-2 nights out of the month other then that shes with my and my boyfriend. I pay for everything for my daughter I even offered to pay a bill for my mom she said no to save (because I'm moving with my boyfriend in a few months to this beautiful house we found). Like I'm only 17 so it not like I'm older saying you can do it at a young age, I'm your proof you can and I use to tell 2 of the girls that always came to me. They will say I'm trying change andd stop partying and fight and smoking and getting kicked out and they want to stay home but people are talking crap blah blah. I stopped giving them advise because they kept going into there bad ways. Now they are mad at me was I wrong to stop giving advice and stop associating with them?

not at all, I think that by you deciding that you were done trying to help them you put you and your baby first, you can't help someone that won't help them self... you dont need negativity in your life.  and to add to that I must say GOOD FOR YOU, being one of the very few teenage mothers who actually provide for their child on their own!

Your post is a little all over the place and extremely hard to read through. But from what I grasped, it seems like you did the best things by just walking away. I got pregnant at 17, graduated and gave birth a month later, yes obviously it's possible moms do it everyday. Their time will come and they will learn the hard way. Example: I tried to help out two of the girls at my school who got pregnant, one was on her second child in the same year the other was just a mess...both of them lost their children. It's sad, but it's life, people make their own choices.

I agree with this. If they aren't going to change you are wasting your time with them.

I think you should keep doing what you are doing and worry less about what they are doing. You are going in the right direction. If it bothers you that much you should just remove them from FB.

lol no but your spelling is crap (just fyi) and you sound like you are just searching for someone to tell you how amazing you are doing! You are doing what is expected of all mothers not just young mothers! You are sacrificing your life for your child, I dont understand the misconception that anyone older than 18 with a kid was done with partying, going out, drinking, etc! Like Im only 24, but I never want a break lol! so not true, i want to RUN not walk away sometimes....no you shouldnt stop giving advice on stuff you know about personally. Just keep in mind not situations are as ideal as yours...some boyfriends skip out, some refuse to work or help with the child! Imagining being a single mother and no boyfriend stepping up too! You guys are just young and have SOOOO much to prove (more to yourself) I just purchased my first home, and now in a ugly divorce and losing everything LITERALLY everything except my son and car! And i thought I had life figured out....so im taking this all a lesson learned, you cant truly count on anyone except yourself because free will kicks you in the ass everytime LOL!
****i wasnt trying to be a bitch, just giving a personal opinion on your post, except for the grammar part i was totally being a bitch there****

My babys father did step out on me and I was a single teen. I know how it felt and I met my boyfriend he was great he loves me and my daughter and tries to help anyways he can. Yes I'm young and idk my future with my boyfriend but you have to live and learn you cant learn from mistakes if you don't make them. And I'm not writing this to bring myself up I'm writing this because I don't get how mothers can just hand a child off and go party or whatever then come to me and ask for advise or help( and the girls that I'm speaking of have boyfriends that give money and see the baby so no excuses of doing it alone). And I have deleted them from FB but they still have my number ( I dont answer). And I don't focus 100% on my grammar when I'm texting or doing a post only when it counts like my old school work and soon my college work.

I get mad when I see teenagers not taking care of there children because that makes people think all teen moms are like that. I do have to say I don't work and my mom does have to pay for everything, but that is what she wants to do. I am in school though. We have talked and made a deal that while I am in school she will support us but as soon as I graduate I am going to have to get a job and do what I am suppossed to. I hate everytime she has to buy something, so I am secretly looking for something at the moment but having no luck. But just because my mom helps me out doesn't make me a bad mom......
