Breech.

At how many weeks should the baby be in position ready for delivery?
I had my 33 wk check up today and my baby is still breech. My Dr said if by my 36 week the baby isn't downwards he will try to turn him, him self or may do an emergency c-section.. Should i worry or is it still to early?

why would they do an emergency csection if he is breech, why not just do a normal scheduled csection...

Why would he do an emergency c-section at 36 weeks?  

Babies can turn during labor.

if my doctor told me he would do an emergency c-section at 36 weeks just bc my baby was breech i would have found another doctor!!

My baby was breech at 36 weeks...he turned at 38. I don't see why he would do an emergency c-section breech isn't dangerous.....

exactly... and like the other mom said babies can turn during labor..

or try spinning babies. i didnt have this problem but i thing its stupid that your dr wants to do an emergency csect. at 36 weeks because your baby is breech..

sounds like he has something on his agenda at the time of your due date that he wants to go do instead of his job.

OP IMO i'd wait it out, maybe try and let the doctor turn baby, but i wouldn't risk an early c-section

My first was breech and I was given the option at 37 weeks to do the external version (turning the baby) I opted against it because I worked on L&D at the time and saw several of them done and each and every one of them turned into emergency c sections. Plus the dr also told me we can do it and there is a chance that the baby will turn back breech. So I just opted to do a scheduled section so my baby could cook a little longer. Im assuming that is where the dr meant emergency c section. I would wait it out personally. Like many others said baby can turn during labor and even if the baby doesnt wouldnt you want your baby to cook as long as possible and come out in a less stressed environment like a scheduled section instead of a emergency one. JMO.

Thanks for the response. I have no idea why he would do a c-section. reading every ones response i am not going to worry and if mentions any thing next time i go i will let him know that i want to wait for a couple of more weeks.

Good luck! I hope that baby turns. Just dont let the dr pressure you into anything you dont want. If you ever need to vent or ask any other questions feel free to ask

Yeah thats just what i am going to do, it wait it out.
