Quoting proudmom97:" My twins were on an IEP. It was something the school done automatically after an evaluation. It just ... [snip!] ... public school. The private school they attended was very one on one and didn't like "labels". Theirs was due to speech issues."My son has a speech delay also. I sent in the application in the beginning of April and still haven't heard anything. The last time I called they said they have recieved the application but due to the high volume of applications they have recieved they haven't been able to schedule us for an evaluation.
Quoting mamadebs:" You just have to ask for an IEP evaluation. Once you ask they are legally required to do an initial evaluation ... [snip!] ... From there- once it's in place you can request a meeting to have it changed as often as needed, or at least every 3 years. "
Quoting AKS♥:" Who do I ask for an IEP? My son is currently in a private school pre-k program. I'm trying to get him into the public school prog or atleast get a scholarship"

I can't remember how we went about getting that set up though. I think maybe their pediatrician helped us with getting it set up. Their speech delay was due to them being severely tounge tied.
