Ridiculous Itching

I had to have blood work drawn today b/c I may have obstetric cholestasis. I'm so bummed. I thought the severe itching was just another symptom of pregnancy.
Most common signs that it might be cholestasis:
Severe all over itching
Itching that progressively gets worse at night
Hands and soles of feet itch
I initially thought I was just being a sissy..I mean..it's just itching. UGH.
Risks include:
Premature birth
Stillbirth
Fetal distress
Hemorrhaging
I get the results back early next week. Wtf?
I fell asleep at 5am b/c of the itching. It's getting worse with each day..which makes me think the results might come back not in my favor.

it sucks badddd...you can also have Cholesasis of the liver w/o being preggoo..i hope to God i dont  

I have psorasis really bad.. and there have been nights where I toss and turn from scratching...

i hope you dont have ICP/OC. but if you do.. get on steriods forreal..you will barely itch!!

Thank you. I've never even heard of this bullshit before now, and it could cause stillbirth? Are you kidding me? Sorry to hear about your psoriasis..I know little about it, but I've heard horror stories.

You know, this may sound crazy and you may think its disgusting, but preperation H clears that up really good! My brother in law used to have it really bad and somebody that used to work for me said to try it. He kinda brushed it off. But then he was like "Screw it!" Nothing the dr is prescribing is helping sooo... He used to have it so bad it almost covered the backside of his arms.... now you would never know =)

really?... I'll have to try it... I usually sunbathe during the summer and it helps curb it... but being pregnant, i cant sunbathe like i usually do...

i had bloodwork done for that too..the itching really sucks .. i wouldnt sleep until 4 n then still wake up every hour but the dr told me that i could take benadryl at night to help the sleep .. she said take 2 of the benadryl antihistame 25 mg only at night .. i dunno if ur dr told u that?.. im using the aveeno itch shower gel and the aveeno itch relief with cooling menthol... it works for a lil while and drink lots of water i think it all sorta helps

itook benadryland it did help me at all..bc ur itching bc of your bile acids coming to the surface of your skin..benadrly is for allery type things..

&& just FYI you will itch just like you did when your preggo whenever you are on your period...&& you cant take alot of the bith controls that they offer bc of the extra hormones & your body/liverwont be able to handle it..  

im getting the copper IUD put in tomorrow [its suppose to have the least amount of hormones]
