I need advice.

posted 19th May '12
Tomorrow is my niece birthday party and it is a pool party. SO 's little sister has autism and well basically when you hug her, she will bury her head between your breast and nuzzle (like move her face back and forth trying to get closer to you). It is her comfort mechanism.
When I watched her in the past I found wearing shirt that were not tight or swoop neckline, she didn't want to do it as much.

How can we help her at the pool and with the other families?

Will she freak out if someone is wearing a low cut shirt or will she carry on her day? My younger brother is autistic and if things don't go a certain way he'll freak out when around too many people

She'll stare or try to hug and nuzzle them. We're all going during the end of the day, not to hot and not as many people. We have to remind her to look at our faces when we (the women talk to her), to many people think it is sexual but it is not at all.

I don't have any advice but I do understand that it isn't sexual many people tend to not understand kids with disabilities they think the parents didn't bring them up right which isn't the case for most as they get older the grow out of habits like that my brother stops an old habit but sadly picks up a new one lol
