WTF why!!

posted 18th May '12
So I asked my mom just to listen for my daughter when I take a quick shower (daughter was in her crib playing). I come out the shower and as I'm walking into my room my mom is across the room getting a pamper and my daughter on my bed on top of a bunched up blanket. She was half way sitting up because of the blankets and she threw her self she almost fell head 1st on a tile floor!, I never ran so fast in my life i think my heart skipped at beat. I was like wth mom why didn't you keep her in her crib or carry her with you to get the pamper. And all she said was Lillie stop over reacting I know what I'm doing. I was so mad I couldnt even speak to her because I think I would have said something I shouldn't have to my mom ( she said sorry later but still it could have had a different outcome and she said she wasn't thinking straight and she will never do it again I HOPE NOT!.) just a little venting

She is only human... I've made "dumb" mistakes as a parent. Luckily nothing happened and she learned. I don't know why you are STILL upset. It isn't like she tried to hurt her.

I know shes going fall but she only 5 months. And I'm 5'5" and my bed is a little above my belly button so its a long drop head 1st on a hard tile floor for a 5 month old.

ok but why put a 5 month old half way sitting up close to the edge of a high bed knowing she moves a lot and walk away. And I'm not mad anymore.

Yes but still i'm sure she'll have falls that are alot harder. When my son was a year old he fell out of the a buggy and onto his head. As she gets older she's going to get hurt, it's just something that happens when you're a parent.

I know everyone does but I'm sure you never left you 5 month old baby on the edge of a bed or anything that is high up and can hit hard tile.

I know but there a different between a 5 month old and 1 year old I know she can get hurt but that could have been prevented if common sense was used and she was never changed on the bed always in her crib

lol... yeah I probably have.

I know one time, I had Cora in the stroller, and it took off down my cement steps.

Also, when Cora was learning to walk, she went headfirst down those same cement steps

She went to the ER in an ambulance. But she was actually fine. A scrape or two and that was it.

Kids are a lot less breakable than you would think

Yeah there is a difference, but my son also fell off of my bed around 5 months. I also fell asleep with my daughter in my arms when she was a nb and she fell onto the floor(it was like a 2ft drop), she also cut her hand open pretty good when she was a year old. People make mistakes, you just have to get over it and move on. Yes common sense should of been used but it's over and done with, nothing that can be done about it now.
