moms with HELLP or pre-E, did you get it with second child?

Hello! I had my son at 28 weeks and I had HELLP. He was delivered early because of this. My husband and I are talking about when we want to have another baby. I'm curious if other moms with HELLP had it with their second or third children. Please give me advice or any other stories you have about this.

I had pre-e with my first, didn't develop it with my 2nd, but my BP started to rise, I haven't developed it with my 3rd pregnancy yet, but my nurse thinks I will, but hopefully not since I'm being induced Mon.

I had pre-e with my second but luckily didn't have it with my third or fourth. My blood pressure has been borderline high with this pregnancy so my doctor is watching me closely but so far so good.

I had severe pre-e (pretty sure it was turning into Hellp since my liver started to fail and my platelets were so low they set up for me to have a transfusion, but luckily my 2 blood transfusions helped them to start to rise again.) with my 1st pregnancy. I had idiot doctors that ignored my symptoms and told me they were all normal. They even would ask me why my blood pressure was so high.   I had no clue what pre-e was at the time though. At 34.5 weeks the pre-e made my placenta abrupt. I started hemorrhaging and rushed to the hospital. By the time I got there, my daughter was already gone. I spent the next 2 weeks fighting for my own life.  
I didn't get pre-e or even high blood pressure with any of my pregnancies after that though! (I only have had 2 pregnancies that have lead to a baby, the rest were early miscarriages. I have 2 living boys!) Then again, with my youngest son, I only made it to 28.1 weeks, but it had nothing to do with pre-e. I had a kidney stone trapping an ecoli infection into my body and became septic and lots of things happened, so he had to be delivered.
I have always heard your chances of getting pre-e go up once you have already had it, but they also go down some if you have a baby with the same father as the one you got pre-e with.
Good luck! I hope you are able to not get it it ever again! I would definitely try to be healthy when you decide to TTC #2 and make sure your blood pressure is under control from the beginning! I would love to try for another little girl, but I am too afraid I think.

I had HELLP Syndrome with my daughter. Scared the HELL out of me. I seriously thought I was dying the night before ( was to stupid to say hey lets get to the hosp.) DD came at 34 weeks. Doc said I was very lucky to be alive, I had been suffering some extreme pain that My DR said was just regular pregnancy pain, and I was over dramatic. May 26th I was getting dressed and I suddenly couldnt breath anymore. I went to the hosp and NO ONE could figure out what was going on, test after test and tons of blood work, and then people just stoped talking to me about things. They were giving me a second bag of magnesium when the DR came in and said your being flighted to another hosp to have an emerg. C section, and that I had HELLPS. They gave me CPR twice in the Helicopter and I didnt wake up untill 2 days later, then I was in and out for another day and a half.
This was in 2010. I now have my tubes tied because the DR that delivered DD said my chances of dying From HELLP would be greater with a second pregnancy. I am heart broken about not having any more kiddos, but DD is my little angle! Thats all I have.

i had a semi normal pregnancy with my first except i had 2 placenta abruptions and ended up going into labor twice before they induced me (34weeks) but right off the bat with my second pregnancy i knew something was wrong my legs swelled the size of honey hams and my blood pressure was threw the roof i had an idiot smurfing doctor try and deliver me (3 hours after she sent me home with tylenol) (my doctor took his vacation early so he would be the one to deliver but my lil one came at 36 weeks) she went home 3 times and had to keep coming back they placed the epi wrong and it didnt work refused to reposition it after my son was rushed to another hospital 2 hours away because after he was born his lung collapsed i was told (by the same dumb ass doctor) to get up and walk around that it would help me feel better. as soon as i got out of bed i passed a large clot and started gushing blood on the floor in the hall way (post delivery hemorrhage ) the rushed me back into my room and started pushing on my stomach to get all the clots out my blood pressure got so high i passed out and stayed out. if the doctors would of just listened to me then all of this could of been of been avoided so yeah if your at risk of having pre-e i would def. make sure you have a doctor that gives a smurf and listens to you and keeps a close eye on you exs. if your ttc sorry im a little pissy =/

WTH did they even let you go past the first placenta abruption?!   Your lucky you and your baby are alright. They should have induced you when you had the first placenta abruption since it takes oxygen and nutrients away from the baby! That is why I lost my daughter is because my placenta abrupted. Mine was a full placental abruption though, but I was told in my other pregnancies if I were to even have a partial abruption that they would take the baby because of it. Are you sure your hemorrhaging wasn't from your placenta abruption? I hemorrhaged when my I had a placenta abruption and blood clots just started falling out of me. They had to do a uterine sweep to get the clots out. (The doctor had to stick his hand inside of me and scoop the clots out! I screamed and yelled the whole time because it was so painful!) I also had to have 2 blood transfusions and was getting set up for a platelet transfusion, but luckily they started going up.
