First word/sign!! *video*

Delilah just signed her first word, "milk"! It's still a bit awkward and shaky (she kinda looks like she's trying to be Spiderman lol) but it is definitely her copying me signing it! I don't know if she understands what she's signing, but I do believe she knows what it means when I sign it.
Oh, and she's 9.5 months actual/6.5 months adjusted

27 weeks and 4 days. I just subtract 3 months because I hate math!

It's a wonderful thing if you can, but we are a bilingual home with ASL and then spoken English. DH is Deaf so it is our primary language at home.

Oh I see. I feel kinda smurffy because a lot of moms teach their kids some signs but I never did. I ever felt the need. Did you know ASL before you got with your DH or did he teach you?

Don't feel smurffy! And really anyone can learn at any age, it doesn't just need to be babies! Honestly it's just supposed to be a really helpful tool for both children and their parents.

I was learning when I first met DH. My fluency (and some bad habits) are because of spending my time with him.

Well worrying all the time isn't going to help your blood pressure!   (hopefully that put a smile on your face lol)

I know how tough it can be to wait around with the Dr's telling you your baby may be coming early. We only lasted about 2 weeks, but those were 2 very difficult weeks. If you want to see how far she has come, I have been trying to document it for our friends and family and even for moms who might or have new preemies.

When we first found out that we were going to have a preemie, I couldn't find videos of preemies growing up and reaching milestones, so I'm hoping these videos might bring some hope to new preemie moms   Good Luck
