Putting baby in toddler bed

posted 16th May '12
When did you put your babies in a toddler bed to sleep for the first time? What is a good age to start them sleeping in a toddler bed?

Thanks

11 months. She was a climber. We always put her in bed asleep so we didn't have to wiry about keeping her in.

DS started sleeping in his toddler bed at like 15 months. He has one shaped like a race car. Seemed to be the right age for him.

the day she started climbing out of her crib was the day i converted her crib into a toddler ed and surprisingly she did amazing! I believe she was a little over one at the time.
When she turned two she's started getting out of bed and it was a bit of a struggle but she's been doing better now.

my kid was in her own room and she had slept pretty good but on the occasion she did get up we had a baby gate at the door so she wouldn't wonder around the house while we slept. ur room were next to one another so i could hear her get up and call for me.

When she started climbing the gate we started closing the door, I could still hear her through the door. Just make sure you baby proof THE Smurf out of their room.

Mine showed no interest in leaving the crib.
We bought an inflatable one and introduced it to her when we were away form home one night.
That was at almost 3.
we started in our romm.
then we'd put her to bed in her room and when she woke up, we'd bring her and the inflatable into our room.

My daughter was 2 when we switched her.

My son was 16 months. The only reason I switched him so soon was b/c he HATED being in a crib. He slept with me for the first year, and then when I tried putting him in his crib to sleep he would freak. I got the idea to try the toddler bed and he took right to it. He sleeps in it amazingly well.

My daughter just transitioned into a twin bed. I skipped toddler size, she she is tall and almost three.

The only reason I did is because I need her crib for our baby due in 8 weeks. She had zero interest in climbing out of her crib. Luckily it was an easy adjustment, but she is an easy kid when it comes to nighttime; she loves sleep!

12 months for both my oldest girls. They were in their own rooms with the door closed and a baby monitor on since my room was in the basement. My oldest now almost 10.....I switched her cause she kicked out the bars twice even after my dad glued them back in with carpenters glue. and she chewed the smurf out of the wood lol I called her a beaver lol. My middle girl I switched her since she slept all night anyways so I knew she wouldnt get out of it in the night! lol

You need to put your babies into a toddler bed to sleep by the time that you think that they are already responsible enough to sleep alone.

If your toddler shows signs that he or she is reluctant to move to a big bed, then you might like to start with a toddler bed first. This is because a toddler bed is small and feels snug compared to a twin or full-sized bed. Usually, toddler beds can only be used until your child reaches the age of five or fifty pounds in weight.Thanks.
