pregnancy loss

I actually have to have induce labor at 18weeksand I am scared and I was wondering if anyone else out there have had to do this and if so how did they do it? The procedure Im going thru sounds odd to me. It start monday buy manually dialating my cervix at the Dr. office with little pieces of seaweed? (Foorgot the tech. name) and its gonna expand inside me then remove it to put more in on tue and then maybe wed. I find this strange but cant find anything online about it. So if you have had to go thru this please help me tell me yourstroy! Thank you! ~Elyse

It's valid - I don't know the name either but I have definately heard of it.

(I am sorry you have to go through this   what are the reasons?)

It's called Laminaria - the procedure is a dilation and extraction .

why do u have to induce labor so early?

Why do they need to do that?

Something is probably wrong with her baby. OP I am sorry that you have to go through that

Wow, I am so sorry. I can't imagine what you are going through...if you need to talk I am here. I work for a hospice company and pregnancy loss is like dealth and griefing.

Awww I am so very sorry for you. 

Ok Im sorry I didnt realize that I didnt include why I have to do this. Remember I am having a bad day full of awful news! My baby boy has CDH so his liver, stomach, bowels,are all in his chest because his diaprahm didnt form all the way. His lungs are squished and cannot form, his poor little heart is pushed all the way to the right.So he will not be able to survive outside of my body. We decided its better for lil Kayden (thats his name) and for my body to do thid now. My docotor reccomend this. I have already had 2M/C this is my third pregnancy in three years.

I am so sorry. There are a couple ladies on here that went through that. One girl had her son and he lived a month before he passed away. It's such a hard decision to make, but at least Kayden will not suffer.

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. I think you are making the right decision though. It takes a very strong person to do what is right.

i am so sorry to hear about that! you are a strong brave woman to make that decision

I am so sorry for your loss, at least your know kayden won't suffer. I hope things get better for you soon!
