I like cloth bcs it's cuter. And the ones I like are work at home mom made, so they're expensive (comparably)

cloth diapers aren't what they used to be. it's not just a flat cloth that you fold up, pin and put a cover on (although some people do still do that). You can get some real high end diapers these days for like $40-50 EACH. Of course, you can get them much cheaper too. I rarely pay more than $7-10 for mine.

I can understand where the stereotype comes from, of not being able to afford the "newer" disposable diapers, but nowadays, it's becoming a lot more common for people of all different economic standards to use cloth.

I use them because they are cute, are better for baby's bottom, create less waste and are cheaper.

you might have something like this in mind (an older version)

but a lot of people use cloth diapers more like this now:

I like cloth because it's cheaper, and better for the baby and doesn't fill up landfills with poop.
I think it's kind of strange that it has a reputation for being a "poor persons" thing in your area. The up front cost outlay isn't cheap, that's for sure.

i think its only because our idea of cloth diapers is deffierent as to what it truly is so its more a misunderstanding actually that why here i think its just misunderstood you know

Better for the baby, better waste wise...Cheaper!!!!

and NOT because I am poor. We used disposables with DD#1 and have chosen to take a different route with DD#2

Besides, a person could BECOME poor buying disposables!

The initial investment can be costly. BUT, just think about it. You spend 200-300 dollars OR less or more depending on what you like, than you don't have to buy diapers for awhile...
There are some that are 20 a piece but there are some you can buy in a bundle for 5 a piece.

Cloth diapers 20 years ago used to be a lot less expensive, when they involved pins and plastic diaper covers instead of being a fashion statement.
I am an old enough mom to have become curmudgeonly, and I was going to seek out some of those things and just buy the prefolds, but my mom gave me some money, so I used it to buy diapers. I hope I am happy with them!
