Absolutely right. Also the toll of working a FIFO job (fly in fly out) for the miners, which most of them are, is really taxing. I think that, in addition to the mining boom as contributed to the high salary. Rio Tinto needs an additional 6000 workers in the next 4 months. I could never do that though, and I really hope SO never wants to go down that path.

We're lucky where we live. Cost of living is especially low, given we're in Aus, so we have a lot of freedom financially. Might not always be the case though.

I understand   It was more a point of interest comment. Mining work is set up very different to in US from what I hear too. Cost of living is a lot higher also, but you get used to it.

Lol I didn't troll through TDC until i knew what I was doing on here. I would feel intimidated trolling through TDC if I only had been on here for a few days..
