effaced?(maybe a little tmi)

so my doctor won't check me to see if i'm dialated or effaced at all but last night after me and bf had sex i told him to feel and see if he could feel anything and what it felt like and he said he could feel something but it was hard so does that mean i'm not effaced or anything?

i wouldnt be having your boyfriend check you... he doesnt know what hes feeling for! Your doc will check you soon enough i promise!

Please do not have you or your boyfriend up there looking around for stuff...it only will lead to trouble. Honestly just be patient. Not worth the risk of infection.

OK....FIRST RULE:
DON'T PLAY DOCTOR AT HOME!!  
You can cause infection, (if you happen to be dialated).

And, what he felt could have been your cervix, depends on how far back he went. My cervix is tilted back, so they could never really check mine unless someone had really loooooong fingers.  

And second, only a nurse/practicioner/midwife will know for positive if you're effaced or dialating.

Why won't your doctor check you if you're due in 12 days?

i agree i started to get checked at 36 weeks!!

My dr doesnt check me either..

he didn't push on anything or go very far back cause he stopped after he felt something, and him doing it was the only way it was gonna get done cause my doctor refuses to.ButI don't understand why my doctor won't check me, he told me he won't check me until i start having contractions, which doesn't make a whole lot of since to me being that if i started having contractions that means i'm more than likely in labor so what's the use of him checking me then. I seen him monday and he said that we'd see what was going on the next time i come in which is monday, but i don't think he'll check me then either unless i lie to him and tell him i've been having contractions or something. he's supposed to induce me on the 12th if i haven't went into labor on my own yet.

i didnt think my dr. was going to check me either but at my 37 week check up she did and i was dilated to 1 and she could feel the babies head yayy!! It dont make since for your dr. not to check you if your that far along i would talk to him about it.

I'll be 39 wks on monday and that's when i go back. So maybe he'll check me then but so far he's been saying he wasn't going to until i start having contractions, which i haven't yet.
