feeding

At the hospital I breast fed on both sides with a shield then topped lo off with 20ml of pumped milk in a bottle. We came home today and I feel like he's not eating enough. He stays on the breast for about 40 minutes then I try to bottle feed the rest which he hasn't been taking. How do I know if he is eating enough? I am on a 3 hour schedule until his doctor's appointment Monday.
