Fertility after abortion

I had an abortion march 20th and just had a 6 day normal period. My dr appt for birth control was 2 days ago and they told me to start it next period and use condoms till then. I was told you are highly fertile after an abortion, but im wondering how long that window is typically of being so fertile ( i know were fertile already lol) im just scared to have sex in fear that i may get pregnant again. I kinda want to wait till i start my BC. If i use protection, im not considered so highly fertile anymore correct?

You will still be very fertile with or without the birth control but it will lessen your risk of pregnancy. Good luck to you.  

I was told it was the same length as after you have a baby, 6 weeks?
I don't really remember but just use condoms and stick with the BC
 

I'd assume it'd be the same as when you've given birth?

Not quite as long as when you give birth because you don't dilate to ten with an abortion. May I ask why you want too wait with the BC? Are you just not active enough for it to be worth it at this point?

I havent been since my abortion and like i said im just scared sorry i dont think i fully understood your question lol

I'm sorry, I misread the OP. I thought it said you wanted to wait for a while to start BC, not that you wanted to wait until you were on it to have sex. I apologize.

Well they said after a mc i know its Lil different if you dont get pregnant with in 6months the chances of another pregnancy goes down. Id def wait for bc.
