School issues! wwyd???

posted 10th May '12
my son is about to be 12 and has been having on going issues with a kid in his class. it started after valentines day, a girl in their class wrote my son a cute lil love letter, and all hell broke loose with this other boy, it started with him calling my 8 year old daughter a smurfer on her way home from school (they all take the same way home) i called the school nothing was done to the child. about a week latter the kid starts putting his hands on my son, he smacked my son in the head pulled a chair out from under him, then again on the way home form school he kneed my son very hard in the back, at that point my son had had enough, he hit him and ran away, i again called the school, and yet again nothing was done. things died down a bit for awhile, he still called my kids bad things but, my kids were in a tutoring program and stayed after school, so they no longer went home at the same time. well as of monday they are back to walking home at the same time as this kid. that day, on their way home from school he chased my kids, called my 8 yearold a bitch, and then called my son a ni%%er (soooo not ok!!!!!), i AGAIN called the school the kid was out tuesday (surprise surprise) so aging nothing was done. then yesterday the kid punched my son in his crotch hurting him very bad! they had a sub so he waited to tell me when he got home. i AGAIN called the school, and requested a meeting with this kids parents, ive had it! i dont know what to do. i dont want my child being some kids door mat, but at the same time i dont want my child fighting. im tired of this kid picking on my kids and calling them names. if the school yet AGAIN chooses to do nothing what are my options? what would you do if it was your child?

Go TO the school and ask to see the principal and say that you're not leaving until something is done. Your child's safety should be top priority.

This is why my kids have explicit permission to smurf up anyone who puts hands on them first.

And let the school say something...lmao.

You need to call and get an appointment with the principal or vice principal, depending on who is in charge of discipline issues, immediately. Make a list of the things this kid has done so you do not get off track while there and do not leave until you are satifsifed. You need to make it clear that you have called and were completely blown off on more than one occasion.
You also need to make it very clear to your son that he is to involve a teacher as soon as this child violates him or causes trouble at school.

Keep going back. Sometimes they're a little incompetent and you have to stay on top of things. Maybe it's a bit extreme but I'd ask them if they'd like to take care of it or if I should just call the cops next time the other kid put his hands on my child.

I've recently gone through something similar with my son. The school kept ignoring. Call the school board and DEMAND a meeting with them and the principal. then with the kid's parents. Tell the school board that your children will not go to school until this abuse is settled then call the police to file a report against the school and those children. That will be your back up for reasoning why your child staying home is your best option.

While calling the school board don't settle with the receptionist, ask for the director general or the Ombudsman. They can't deny you to speak with them. You child has a legal right to safety and respect while getting an education. You need to raise hell! lol

Be strong! Don't take no for an answer and be consistent! You can do this!

Even with them knowing he has used racist slurs? I just can not imagine. My son had issues with a bully and the school took it very seriously.
I would be the squeaky wheel.

you've been to the school and they are doing nothing, so go to the superintendent or the school board. This is horrible and I'm so sorry your kids are going through that. I really hope something gets resolved.

Things got moving when my son lost patience and hurt one of his bullies. The school wanted to have my son disciplined and I told them flat out that I was happy he has defended himself since the school ignored the numerous attempts from us to have something done about it. He understood that it was absolute last option for him.

If no one else will help, he has no choice but to help himself. And what a lot of those kids need os a taste of their own medicine. Dont start a fight, but finish it by any means necessary.

My dad always told me never start a fight but you better defend yourself if someone starts one with you. Thats what I tell my kids now.
