Take it from someone who's older sister had a baby when she was 16. It's a BIG mistake. Yeah, it's all great until you get out of the hospital, but as soon as you get home, you don't have a life anymore. She had to drop out of high school and never was able to get her GED. Is that the kind of life you want? I'm 21, and I don't even feel like I'm ready.

i am 17 and 8 months pregnant... i thought the same thing. after my insurence ran out in august last year i lost my birthcontrol... my boyfriend of over 2 years and i werent trying to have a baby but we wernt preventing it.. i got pregnant in october found out in november.. hunny its not easy.. yes its a wonderful experience to be pregnant but it will be even better when yu can spend it with someone yu really love. im still in highschool with no job... he graduated and works at babies r us... yud think that was perfect for our situation but it doesnt pay nearly enough. if it wasnt for his mom we would have nothing... my mom didnt care from the get go... so if it wasnt for my boyfriend and his family i and our baby would be homeless... its hard.. even if yu do have help theres ALOT to think about... how yur gunna get the diapers.. formula if yu choose that im breastfeeding because honestly i dont have the money to buy formula at 20 dollars a can that will last a week if that... please rethink it... im 8 months and im scared that im not gunna be able to give my daughter what she needs.. or even wants... all these people that are telling yu that yur not ready are right.. if yu want a good life for yur child...WAIT.... because yu need to be able to care for yurself befor yu can even think about caring for a baby... i wish yu luck and i pray that yu change yur mind. live life lik a teenager... i wish i did.

Excuse me.. im 17, almost 18.. Im 5 weeks pregnant. And it was not planned.. while i wouldnt dream of ever getting rid of this baby. looking at this post makes me sick.. like are you serious? i KNOW i'm not ready, although it does not matter, being an adult you need to be mature enough in your own mind.. that right there tells me otherwise, although i should not be one to talk, you need to grow up fast lady.. i'm not even a physical mother yet and i'm already tired from all the concerns and symptoms., you may think its easy now. but once you see that + sign.. its a whole different story.. i think you need to wait as long as possible, Until your married, and actually not bullsmurffing about being set with money..It would be your baby, the one you need to change, feed. wake up in the middle of the night to hold. its a HUDGE deal, and you are making it look so easy for yourself, while i'm scared to death.. you have fun putting yourself in my, and many other teen mothers shoes. although being a mother isnt the worst thing in the world, im not saying NEVER get pregnant, but it would be helpful if you actually got pregnant,

1. At a reasonable age
2. When you're mature enough
3. When you know you can support it
4. When you get a brain..

If your women enough to lay in bed with a man, you better know your women enough to be able to take care of a baby.

Wow. This is why people doubt teen moms. I'm 16 and due with my first next month, it was unplanned but I've definitely grown up and she's my number one now. I haven't even had her yet and it's already hard. You don't know what your talking about. And it's the stuff like this that causes people to judge me as well as other teen moms. Lol, we're not all bad

Girrrrrrrrrrrl I'm 20 and I feel like I'm not ready for a baby. Even if you somehow thing you can afford it the emotional toll it takes is intense. Boyfriends don't stick around and this is not something you can just wish away. I love my daughter so much already even though she isn't here yet but I wouldn't wish this on anybody and I wish that I had been smarter and not gotten pregnant this young. My life will never be the same. I won't be able to go out anytime I want my entire world will revolve around my daughter. Which is all fine and dandy and I am willing to do that for her. But hun you are 15 years old! you haven't even experienced the freedom of driving yet! Live your life! You have your whole future ahead of you and all the time in the world to have your baby when you're more emotionally mature and prepared.

I got pregnant at 15 now I'm 16 I'm 6months pregnant I still haven't had my baby and things are hard. I can't do alot of things that I use to just enjoy your freedom and wait to have a baby it may seem like a dream but for our age it's difficult.

So um... since you don't have a job who's supporting you and your baby?

ive been supporting myself and doing a very good job of it, my dad gives me a few bucks here and there but i seem to make it work. i have plenty of friands that have done the same thing i have and there perfectly fine. i have a lot of support from friends and family but dont accept money off them, i save up and when i have enouigh money to get my baby something he needs then i get it for him, you cant always expect to get the better things.

So basically your dad supports you and is going to support your child.
Great advice.

Yes, if you are living off money that your dad gives you he is supporting you.
And if my son decided to have unprotected sex and got a girl pregnant, I wouldn't be supporting him. He would have to get a job.
