Slimy discharge while on period [tmi]

I was changing my tampon yesterday at work, and when I pulled it out there was a long, clear, slimy string fally down from it. I was just wondering if this is normal. I've seen it a few times, i just wanna make sure it's normal.

IDK about when on your period, but two or three days ago I noticed the same long clear slimy goop coming out when I went to the restroom. It was icky.

It is cervical mucus. You will also find more of it in the days leading up to ovulation.
