How long before labor...(long)

posted 30th Apr
First off, diarrhea.  Everything has been going through me for the past 3 weeks consistently (2 weeks before that inconsistently). Yesterday I was have contractions that were starting in the back and moving to the front then ending in my back that were lasting about 2-3 minutes each and coming almost constantly.  They had been building since the night before.  Eventually I couldn't walk during them and I couldn't breath well.  I've had no bloody show, mucus plug, water breaking, nothing, but the nice nurse said to go in.

We decided to go in, but no baby. They didn't do anything to my cervix (the contrations, not the hospital)  The nurse was pretty condescending, I was crying because I felt like an idiot, about 4 hours after we got home they started to let up.

I'm just extremely frustrated.  People tell me "you'll just know", and well I thought I knew yesterday, I'm still getting them, but they're not like they were yesterday and I can't get them to go away, they feel so different then anything I've felt before.  I know I still have 3 weeks to go...but I just get the feeling that my body is trying so hard but nothing is happening!  What am I supposed to do? (Actually, I know what I'm supposed to do...wait).

I'm so frustrated with my body right now.

It's probably braxton hicks - which suck .. but its all preparation .
Patience - it will happen and you will know when it does.

Yes, everyone says "You'll know when you're actually in labor" and thats true.. just there WILL be false alarms. I went to the hospital the other day thinking my water broke and it didn't. I was concerned though. They don't think you're an idiot. It's better safe than sorry.

I had contractions all last month and blah blah blah..go figure I'm not diliated AT ALL. Sometimes they even got a bit painful.

i had my first painful braxton hicks yesterday--- i started getting them lightly about 4 weeks ago- which the nurse said was normal.... and then they kept on coming like 1 every couple hours and by the end of the day my belly was sore.

it was like ovulation pain for me. when i ovulate its like a 1/4 period cramp-and even though they are not "deathly painful" it catches you off guard and hurts like hell.

dont feel bad because you thought that this was it-- i am a ftm, but i feel for ya!!! my friend who just had a baby would have bh contractions sometimes all day and they would almost lay her out from 32 weeks on. she went on to have her baby at 39 weeks.

the only advice i have is to just jump into the tub and get pretty immersed and take deep breaths. when ever those contractions start. for me water is soothing-- and it takes my mind off of the pain....

good luck

Everything was just under the "true labor" category!  It was so frustrating to go in and be sent home.  They were regular, timable, started in the back move to the front, didn't go away if I changed activity or drank a bunch of water, and they were hurting more and more.

That was just so frustrating yesterday!  I really don't think I'll know when I'm in labor if this stuff keeps happening!

This exact thing has been happening to me! I have been in L & D 4 times in the past week. My contractions have literally been 2 minutes apart, but not strong enough to dialate my cervix more than a 1 1/2. So I'm stuck having contractions constantly that sometimes get painful. (not too bad but real uncomfortable)

The contractions will be to the point that you can't walk through them or talk through them. I can't really remember what my contractions felt like because I was induced and then given a sleeping pill with my first son, but I remember the back labor. Oh.. my.. god was I in pain or what. Trust me, you WILL know.. but like I said, there will be flase alarms.. there always is.

I always get scared though to wait until I won't be able to talk or walk through them because sometimes it can be too late ya know?

I am getting induced on Monday but had my membranes stripped yesterday.. on a little bit though, and since yesterday night I have been having some hard cramping and it is getting more severe today, but I don't want to go in..

I hate this..=) it gets so hard to know..

It really does! I had a gut feeling yesterday (which says a lot for my gut feelings lol) and when I looked at the "True vs. False Labor" list, everything was under true! I tell ya, I just don't know anymore!

Lol. I like this buzzer idea. They always say let the baby "cook in the oven". And what happens when things are done cooking? A timer goes off...there's a lot of sense in this theory...
