Quoting Wanted: #2:" Hi ladies! The retrieved 9 eggs (which is a quiet a bit more than last time when I only had 4). I will ... [snip!] ... to know how many were mature and how many fertilized. We are doing ICSI. I pray, pray that we will get 3 or 4 to blast stage."

Yay!! 9 sounds like a good number!

Yes, It is not a crazy huge number, but I would rather have a moderate number with good quality than having a crazy 20-30 eggs with poor quality.

I am so nervouse about the report tomorrow. IVF really only works if you take it one step at a time. First it depends on your responds, than on the retrieval, than on the fertilization, than on the growth, than 2WW.
I just feel like there are so many steps and ifs and whens that one really has to feel lucky if you end up with 2 ok looking embryos for transfer at the end.

Happy to share that our first consult went well! Our RE made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Turns out that IVF is our best option. The status of my tubes puts me at a high risk for an ectopic pregnancy - so trying IUI first would be 1. dangerous and 2. probably not work anyway. Because of this, insurance will help with IVF from the start. *Huge sigh of relief*
We are looking at starting our first round in January/February! In the meantime, we both need blood work and DH needs to repeat his SA. I'm sad that this is the route we will have to take, but I feel like everything is starting to fall into place.
Our next chapter won't be easy but I have a lot of faith that everything will work out.

Thank you ladies! I feel a little stressed about the whole situation, it's a lot to figure out, but I know everything will fall into place.

Ashleigh- She was so incredibly kind to DH & I. Loved her! We both got the vibe that she just "gets" it and is rooting for us. Corny but true! lol. Thanks again for all of your help!! Now I get the joy of trying to figure out how I'm going to get time off of work.. ugh!

Quoting Wanted: #2:" How was your IVF cycle? How many mature eggs did you get and how many fertilized? Did you do a 3 day ... [snip!] ... this time around, but at the same time I am so worried I might lose all embryos in the process of waiting until Blast stage."

Hey, my cycle was pretty easy and the dr's said it was a textbook cycle. Somehow i got lucky!! We retrieved 17 eggs all together, only 11 of them fertilized and by the 5 day transfer we had 4 good eggs left. I decided to only transfer 1 egg as they gave me a high success rate, so i froze the last 3. And tada....miracle eggy, stuck like a charm and no need to repeat. Hit my 13 week mark today and couldn't be happier! Hate to sound like i'm bragging though, sorry!!

I hope everything goes well for you and i wish you the best of luck! Keep us posted!!

Pcos ladies, tomorrow I see my new endocrinologist for the insulin resistance and thyroid to manage it closer.

I am thinking about asking for byetta and cutting back to 1000mg of met a day since my IBS isn't making friends well.

Could that help with shrinking the pearl lookin things in my ovaries?

Sorry i was a little quick to respond without reading the rest of the posts. 9 is a good number!! I would be happy with that. I was on the verge of over stim with my cycle...in fact i was sore for almost 2 weeks after my transfer even!!! And the majority of my eggs weren't the greatest of quality. Keeping you in my thoughts that you'll make it to 5 day transfer, i'm sure you will!!

Exactly how I felt when I met her too! She treats every person like they are her only patient, it's so nice!!! I'm glad things went well! Oh and good luck trying to get time off, honestly if they give you a hard time for that I'd be pissed!
