Well we had our last appointment at the IVF clinic yesterday. I was not impressed at all. They were running so far behind, i waited in the waiting room for an extra 15 minutes and then they finally took us to an exam room where i waited another 25 minutes with no pants on for the dr to finally come in and do our scan. He was so rushed he barely took the time to get a decent picture of the baby, he measured the heart rate but didn't let us listen and then basically congratulated us and ran out the door.

That being said, my little bean is beautiful and healthy so far. Measuring right on time at 8 weeks 2 days, 1.84 cm's long and a heart rate of 171 bpm.

Now to be reffered to an OB!!

My progesterone was only 11 the one time I got pregnant naturally. I wouldn't count yourself out just yet.

So glad to hear your bean is doing well. How are you doing with nausea? Mine has pretty much taken over my life. Will be soooo glad when this part is over!

Been MIA a bit lately so sorry about that! I just feel so pukey all the time and usually the last thing I feel like doing is getting on the computer. I know I should be grateful for all this yuckiness and I swear I am, but I still like to whine.

Had my appointment with the peri on Tuesday and got a HR of 189!   Quite a difference from the 100 we initially got. He also said, "This looks like a viable pregnancy." So I was pretty happy to hear about that.

We're supposed to leave for the Bahamas on Wednesday. Dunno if I'm gonna make it though.

I'm doing alright with the nausea. Starting to get used to it, and it's only bad at night so the times it's really bad I either just go to bed or lay on the couch. But I'm extremely exhausted!! I can barely keep my eyes open past noon at work! I have to start going to bed earlier. I'm excited I've only got about one more week left of the progesterone suppositories to take. Yahoo!! I'm so excited to rid myself of that horrible mess. I'm just in the process of researching a good OB. I have a wonderful one close to me but I HATE the local hospital she delivers at so I'm hoping to find another good one at a better hospital. The only thing is this OB I know of did such a good job with me before and she knows my history, so I'm kinda torn. Do I just suck it up and go for the good dr but crappy hospital? Or do I hope I find a good OB who has rights at the good hospital. Ugh

That's a tough one! But I personally chose the good OB over the good hospital. I'm not sure when I get to stop progesterone/estradiol but I believe it's 10 weeks. So hopefully just one more week for me.

If I can ask, how are some of you ladies affording IVF?

DH and I make a good living for ourselves, just I dont see us ever having 15-20k at one time for it.

I mean we just had to finance 22k for a new car for me, since my old one was dangerous and not ok for a baby or pregnant person to be in.

We can totally do 100-400 a month for the RE, just I dont see us being able to do it without taking out credit for it.

As of right now, my health insurance covers it (we will start IVF in December) but it expires next October. If I didn't have the insurance, I don't know how we would be able to afford it-we would probably have to save for a very long time.

Our insurance wont cover anything dealing with IF, so we are out of pocket for everything I believe, if the office can write this under PCOS or something, I might be able to have them cover the ultrasounds and labwork.

My husbands insurance doesn't cover anything either. We just paid close to 3k for his surgery at the end of the month.

Hope things work out for you!

You too!

I have my appointment with our new RE on the 6th or 7th, I have to call Monday and check.

Since the M/C last September I have been really disconnected from alot of the TTC stuff. Hopeful and everything just it is in another place, been focusing on my family and trying to be me as much as possible.

Our IVF Treatment cost was 6700 dollars. We have 3000 of that pulled from our savings for a downpayment towards our house, the other 3500 we borrowed from my mom. Then the drugs normally cost 3000-5000 i was lucky to have about 1500 of that covered by medical, the rest we just paid for as we needed it. Plus both our parents gave us 1000 each to put towards the bills etc. It meant setting back our house buying but it was worth it and really it only sets us back by 3 months or so.

For our first round we obtained a credit card with 0% interest for one year and paid it off over the year (we called it the "Baby Card" hehe). For my second round and subsequent FETs my parents have chipped in about 90%. It's definitely cost prohibitive if you're not lucky enough to be covered by insurance.
