re: *OFFICIAL* Fertility Treatment Thread (Clomid, IVF, IUI)

Adoption is not a cure for infertility. That's how I usually respond now. It's the most common "suggestion" I get from infertiles. I like how they think I'm too dumb to have considered something so obvious. I also hate getting guilt tripped because of all those kids in foster care. When I'm being snarky I ask them how many of those kids they've adopted. You don't have to be infertile to adopt but I've yet had one of them tell me they've done so. Looks like you started me on a rant, haha.

You have a really good chance with IVF because of your age and PCOS. It's quite the emotional roller coaster but it will be a great opportunity for you.

Haha!! Love this!

I made a slideshow video of our journey, and showed DH last night. He would hate that I told people, but almost at the end I look over and DH is crying!!! I couldn't believe it, he never cries!!! I felt so bad. He got upset and was like "what if they don't find any sperm" ... I have been thinking that way too and I told him we can't think that way and we need to remain positive. I need to take my own advice, because its taking a toll on me with worrying.

I'm having issues with my RE's office. I'm not getting any answers... I'm about to make an appointment with my OB for a referral to a new RE.

Aww

I feel like it's harder for men to stay positive when dealing with infertility. I'm sure they'll find sperm!

I know, I never see or hear how he's feeling so it really took me by surprise. I think it's taking a toll on him but he bottles up his emotions. I hope they find sperm too, I feel like we have good odds!

The main issue is that my RE has the nurses handle everything. For my IVF consultation, that was with the head nurse not my RE. The nurses are nurses, when it comes to infertility they know as much as I do. My RE only reviews the blood results on his computer then tells the nurse what to tell the patient.

The nurses are scattered brained, they are gossip queens. When we were TTC my daughter nobody told us we were doing IUI until I came in for CD3 blood work.. They had me sign a consent for IUI.

I think I'll continue with the appointments at my RE's office; while waiting for the referral. It takes about two months to get in to see my OB, then another 2-3 months to see a new RE. I hate the waiting!

I'm sorry. Does this mean you have to start over with everything?

So, I think we are going to go with the November surgery for DH, instead of the October one. We discussed it and he thinks it's only fair that we do the November one so he can give work proper notice since he will be out for 5 days.

A part of me wanted to scream and throw a 2 year old tantrum because I just want to get this over with, but the other part of me agrees and understands. DH just started taking a multivitamin and vitamin e every day like a month ago, and I think it would help if he continues taking those, and will maybe, hopefully give us better odds.

But I still got a shot at being pregnant before christmas, if his surgery is on November 28th (and successful) right? Maybe not....I don't know lol.

Anyways, I'm out of work early (yay!) Off to walk the dog.
