Fingers are crossed so hard for you!

Ashleigh - you were my life saver today   I'll definitely text you while you wait... but you'll have Patrick   At about 45 minutes of waiting I was like, "I wish DH were here!"

I didn't really have any guilt until I was laying on the table going... omg there's someone else's stuff in me. It just didn't hit me until that moment. I think if DH would have been there I wouldn't have felt so bad about it. But it's something I want and he wants - we want.

The nurse practitioner was amazing. She was so nice and she was like, now visualize this. Imagine conception occurring. It's hard to explain but she really made me feel comfortable.

I'll try to chill out on the stressing. That's all I can promise is trying   DH and I are going out on a date tonight so that should help some

Bunches of thanks

You know and as I lay there I was thinking, it wouldn't be the end of the world to have to do this again. It really wasn't that bad.... the waiting for the positive OPK was the killer lol. I'm sure I won't be saying that in 2 weeks if AF comes.

Well after the wait... She had me go back to a room:
I undressed from the waist down (I was covered with a sheet - just like a pap)
Then with my butt at the edge of the table, she inserted a speculum
She visualized my cervix.
Put the cannula (attached the syringe) in.
Slowly pushed it through, and then followed with a little saline to get the rest of the sperm out of the cannula.
Then withdrew everything.
Then had me lay there for 15 minutes.
That was it. She explained everything. There was a little cramping when she put the cannula inside my uterus. And just a little discomfort with the speculum.

That seems easy peasy... So not a lot of pain? Just discomfort?

Discomfort yes. Mild cramping.

I'm still feeling cramping. I feel really wiped out, too.

OMG. The 2ww is crappy.
Good thing I'm going to be super busy until the end of the month. I have to finish 2 papers by then (end of my semester). Going to be busy until then.

Yes, if I get a happy ending!
When do you think would be a realistic time to test? 11-12 dpo?

3/4 of my BFPs came at 10dpo and one at 11dpo. 11-12 is pretty realistic I'd say.

I was kinda thinking then. They're freaking nuts if they think I'm going to wait 16 days.

I've only been pregnant one other time... but do you gals think it's just possible to know the moment it happens?! I swear I knew with Jace well before I got a BFP.

Not to burst your bubble! But it takes 4-5 days for a fertilized egg to become a blastocyst and almost that long to travel through the tubes to the uterus. It then must still hatch before it can begin implanting, and it's not until after the embryo begins secreting HCG in the mother's bloodstream that it's possible to have pregnancy symptoms. Otherwise your body doesn't know conception has even occurred, just as my body didn't know when my embryos were created in the lab.

A lot of times women think they are having pregnancy symptoms only a day or two after the egg is fertilized. And indeed they are having symptoms, but they're related to the progesterone that is secreted after ovulation and not a pregnancy. Those symptoms will become more pronounced as the pregnancy progresses and progesterone levels increase. There have also been studies that suggest a correlation between post ovulation progesterone levels and egg quality. So when a woman claims she knows her symptoms were from pregnancy because she did end up pregnant that cycle, it may be that in fact that cycle produced a very good egg and with it increased progesterone levels.

Science!
