re: *OFFICIAL* Fertility Treatment Thread (Clomid, IVF, IUI)

Also annoyed at the amount of " can I have a drink while pregnant? " threads that are on here.

Quoting Dr.Clandestine:" Anyone else dislike the majority of the TTC board? A lot of the post annoy me for some reason."

I get annoyed with seeing the exact same posts over and over again, being asked to explain charting without having looked it up themselves, am I pregnant? posts, posts that detail an entire cycle history for the last three months, and best of all, the posts about having pregnancy symptoms at 3dpo. Yeah, it's pretty annoying!

Lol, noticed that. I personally don't think it's worth it and would never do it but to each their own!

I don't even know how to chart, all I know is I can't since I don't stay in bed all night.
The only thing I might be flustered with coming up and I am shaky about posting on here is best time to take fertility meds and do injections around other meds.

I think a lot of us in here have been doing this for so long, it is second nature. Which is terrible and sad, but those of who get pregnant after all of it will value it more.

I have taken care of FAS babies and children up to about age 12 even dealt with some young adults with it. It is terrible that it is 100% preventable and it still happens.

Their brains don't process emotions or thoughts the same and it is rare that you see a functional FAS adult in society, that hasn't had run ins with the law.

I think my background influenced a harsher view on it.

How are you doing by the way?

I'm doing better both physically and emotionally. I only cry now when I have to tell people about the miscarriage instead of off and on all day and I'm getting some energy back. I'm super focused right now on our next plan of action. Lots to do, lots of doctors to see, considerations to be made. A lot of waiting though since they can't do anything during the holidays. I still needed answers on some things that have me really worried and I'd like to get those answers ASAP.

And working through anger about the way my peri handled my pregnancy. I also cry when I talk about that.

The doctor I see is a specialist and the head of his department, I think he deals with high risk IVF and the like, he is located in upstate South Carolina, if your looking to switch.

I'm happy with my RE, it's the high risk OB that I'm super unhappy with. I will definitely NOT be seeing him again but the only other peri in my city is in the same practice. I plan to meet with him once I'm pregnant because I will have to see one regularly, but if he's on the same page as the other doctor I'll have to commute about two hours away. I'd rather not have to but of course it will be worth it. I need someone who will take my cervix issues much, much more seriously. Hope's loss could possibly have been prevented if someone had only checked my cervix (I'm pretty sure I was already dilating at my 13 week appointment, I just didn't know then what that felt like) but my peri had to be reminded I even had cervix issues. He was not willing to check anything before 18 weeks which of course was more than two weeks too late.

I hear you on the travel

I have close to 4k on a new car that isnt 4 months old.

I have an appointment the 2nd and we are taking DHs car.

How do you even go about finding a high risk ob?

I already have to see one in Jacksonville per my RE. It looks like a fairly big practice with a better reputation in a city that has more than just one choice like mine. If I'm not happy with them I'll ask for a referral to another one. Gainesville is a little closer than Jacksonville and has great healthcare. My insurance is good about covering out of network doctors if I'm not happy with the local options. I'm also looking into having my transabdominal cerclage placed by either a doctor in New Jersey or Chicago as they are considered the absolute best and only a handful of doctors perform the surgery. I can have that done before I even get pregnant.

Where in SC are you?

I am not actually, I live near the Georgia, SC and NC lines.

I travel for work so I have a decent pick of where I can go, but DH and I are in corporate housing till we find a place close to his job which is in South Carolina.

I need to find a ob gyn and have been coming up short. My yearly exam has been done by a random doctor each year, lol.

I love my OB/GYN but I think she just doesn't deal with many high risk cases. I don't plan to switch though because she's always listened to my concerns and taken them seriously. Unfortunately I reserved my concerns with my last pregnancy for the high risk OB, putting way too much trust in him.
