Here they offer them at the public school for SN kids. They can separate the pool off so they can't get to the deep side and it's so much smaller than the community pool so they can keep a better eye on each of the kids. Do you think they do that near you? It can't hurt to check, right? They only recently started doing it here, like 5 years ago I think.

Is he in any therapies? Like OT? Ask them. They usually can guide you in that direction and help.

We just did regular lessons through park and rec, it took 7 sessions to get him in tbets pool at all... We have laws here making them accommodate him so they offered a personal assistant to attend the regular lessons (vs having to pay private)

By his second set of lessons he was participating well
They also had special lessons
