I posted in single parenting and didnt get any replies so I thought I would try here.

How would you work out... out of state custody/visitation with a special needs child.

Child/father have never met.

Depends on your child's special needs.

I mean, it's not going to be TO much different.

You might be more likely to get sole custody but I don't see the father NOT getting visitation.

Not so much that he won't but how he'd be eased into it

It would probably start off with supervised visits depending on the child's needs.

Well what special things does your child require?


I don't know if the courts will actually ease him into it. But if they do they might allow limited visitation at the beginning then up it as it goes on.

I went through something like this. ( SN's child custody smurf) and they didn't ease him into it.. They just gave him every other Saturday 10-4.

But this was years ago.. Like.. 4. My son has since then been adopted by my DH.
