Sad about getting my tubal :(

I am getting my tubal done on Monday and I've been feeling sad that I know this is my last time having kids. This is NOT reversible and I'm having mixed feelings about getting it done. Did any of you ladies that got it done have the same feelings? Did any of you ladies end up cancelling and not getting it done and is there anyone out there that has had their tubes completely removed?

I waited until my youngest was a year and a half old to have my tubes blocked. I just wasn't emotionally ready to take the ability to carry a baby off the table until then. I knew I didn't want any more but my brain just wasn't there with me.

If you have any doubts...even small then don't have the procedure done.

If ur not 100%. Dont!

I know its the best thing for me and my family. I just feel sad knowing that my 4 month old is the last of my babies   Is it normal to feel this way? My husband says its just a feeling and it will go away.

I know someone who had 4 kids back to back. Infact she got pregnant with each one less than a month after giving birth to the one before. She was completely prepped to go in and have it done they came in to wheel her in to surgery and she changed her mind. Then my step sister had it done after her second kid (which was also her husband's 5 kid) And regretted it so much after the fact the have been trying desperately to adopt for a few years. but I also know plenty of women who have had it done with zero regrets. Its all about what YOU want.

Do you ladies think its a good idea to talk to someone about the feelings Ive been having? I know more kids for our family is not a good idea....but with the 2 boys I just have this feeling in the back of my head I might have a girl if I try one more time.

I think you need to talk to your husband, and have him get his tubes done... His will be reversible, so if you two ever decide later to have more, there is still a chance... And it's less risky for him to get done, than you...

Might being the key word there. You can always get some long term birth control and decide later if this is what you really want.

My husband doesn't want anymore kids. He is going to get done, but here we have to go through private practice and it can take up to a year to get an appt to get in and we have to pay up front for it and our insurance pays us back and its not cheap coming in at $600 minimum. Its not reversible for women after they get their tubes done.....many dr's say it is, but ive done alot of reading and talked to alot of dr's and 95% of them said it NOT reversible.

Don't do it if there is any doubt. Let him get done if it's that big of a deal to him. WHy should you have to go through this especially if you aren't 100%?

I can't take alot of things due to some issues going on with my head, brain and headaches. I am only allowed to take the pill right now and I got pregnant with my first on that. My sister ended up with her 3rd child after she had her tubes done also, so Im worried about that also.

I got mine done right after birth...but I was 100% sure I was done. And still don't regret it 4 months later. I may have baby fever one day and regret it, but if SO and I are in the right place, we could always price and check into IVF.

If you're not 100%, don't do it. talk to your DH more and take some time to yourself to weigh out the pros and cons. Best of luck.
